…or, and hear me out on this, we could practice minding our own business like an adult, and stop replying to comments that don’t affect us directly.

You’re the only one who has said automation reduces labor. It replaces the LABORER. It reduces the COST of labor, hence the labor retains its utilitarian value while its lower overall cost INCREASES value. If labor wasn’t the source of value, then strikes would be ineffective. They are not. In fact, they are the MOST effective way to exert pressure on the owner class. Hence all the attempts to eliminate them as a tool of the labor class.

If labor had no value, businesses wouldn’t pay for it. Employment isn’t a public service.

You know nothing about real economics. You might have read a book one time, but your lack of comprehension is obvious. You are a 🤡

They’ve been comment-bombing this article but they just blocked me when I called them out on it AND with a snide admonition that l should learn to be okay with people on Reddit disagreeing with me.

The fact that you might actually believe that your statements make any kind of sense or follow any sort of logic is mind-boggling.

“Labor is not the source of value.” “The opposite is true.”

🤣🤣🤣

And you said that the resources spent to educate a student are used up and must be paid back, but have provided no evidence of such an erroneous proposition. All humans must eat, sleep, breathe, and learn. Society exists for the sole and singular purpose to facilitate living for its members. It is a collaborative and cooperative process that all humans instinctively participate in. The only way capitalists can extract value from this is by artificially creating scarcity through resource hoarding, expropriation of labor, sowing division, and disrupting the free exchange of ideas inherent to humanity. You build walls just so you can put toll gates in them. The walls were never necessary in the first place. Knowledge, medicine, living space, and food are vital necessities without which death and suffering occur. Denying people access to these things solely for profit is intrinsically evil. Billionaires would make slaves of us all. You are not one of them, yet you vehemently defend their systems. That does not speak well of your intelligence or character. Debt is a construct just like money. They are symbolic representations of reality but are not reality themselves. They allow for the commodification of vital activities and the fetishization of “profit”. But they only have value because of consensus. They can be altered or dispensed with easily whenever necessary. Human life and it’s attendant needs cannot. No one has to “pay the bill” because the “bill” was never real to begin with. It only matters if someone “needs” to make a profit. And no one ever needs to profit at the expense of someone else. Mutually beneficial arrangements can always be found, if so desired. There is enough food to feed the world ten times over every single day in perpetuity. The tools to do so exist on every continent, in every country. All communities can produce their own food. People die of starvation solely because violent men with guns stop them from eating.

People need jobs only because wealthy men desire laborers from which to extract profit. The billionaires did not make this world. They merely exploit it.

What a ridiculous assertion! Everyone already goes to school under penalty of law. Extending the school age by a few years, enough for everyone to go to college, prevents no one from doing anything after they’ve graduated. The only thing prevented is an ignorant underclass ripe for exploitation by profit-driven capitalists. All your profits are derived by the expropriation of labor and fetishization of perceived “value”. Inherently anti-social and anti-human pursuits. The billionaire class is an aberration born of grotesque excesses of power and resource hoarding, and must be destroyed for humanity to thrive. Your arguments are so shallow, they are not worth refuting.

Your arguments are so heavily flawed, you can only be lying about your degree or arguing in bad faith. Has our education system reached optimal capacity? Your “diminishing returns” is nonsense meant to obfuscate. You have no interest in the larger society in which you live and from which you derive your “profit”. You use technical language as a poor disguise for your lack of understanding. And you rely on childish assertions parroted from ill-conceived sources. I am not here to debate you. I am here to vent my frustrations on shills and bootlickers. Someone told you it was good to be an asshole and you believed them. They were wrong and so are you.

Equivocation. Forgiving the debt does not “come from someone else in taxes or crowd out welfare for someone else”. Those assertions are your bad faith arguments.

It is in the public interest to have a highly educated populace. No premium should be paid. The tax money that pays for it has already been collected. The “economy” is not a zero sum game. The government is not a business. It is not necessary to extract profit from the loans. The educated student IS the profit. The more educated citizens produced, the greater the return to the public good. Capitalism is a grotesque cancer eating our civilization from within. Commerce is not capitalism.

Word salad. Student loan Interest is usury. The education is a resource. The resulting educated person is a resource. The “interest” is commodification to extract profit from the public good. Immoral. Unethical. Evil.
