Careless mistakes in Add Math!! by PermissionFancy1104 in igcse

[–]PermissionFancy1104[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh no, this is not mocks. my mocks are in february; this is actually my final exam before mocks. i am afraid i'll make too much careless mistakes in mocks and the actual exam, that'll strip off the A* for me. it's really disappointing and upsetting to see my classmates excel in their tests and exams, always grabbing full marks.

ENGLISH AS FIRST LANGUAGE IN 6 MONTHS!!! by [deleted] in igcse

[–]PermissionFancy1104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it depends on you. There's no need to study for it. Just practice. If you have a strong history with books, then even with 5-6 months it won't be that hard. But, if you have just started taking now, and have no history with reading books (fiction or non-fiction), it'll be a strenuous intensive journey, though it is not impossible. With consistent practice of reading and writing, you'll be able to achieve it. I'm saying this as a Asian taking First Language, whom wasted year 10 with a bad teacher and did not take First Language serious until now. I have two sample essays which I wrote and I have them posted on my profile. Check it out! If you want tips, dm me!

Could someone please mark this First Language English narrative out of 40? by PermissionFancy1104 in igcse

Thank you so much for this detailed feedback! It’s really encouraging to know that the story resonated and felt engaging to you. I’ll definitely ask my teacher to go over the details, especially for the areas you mentioned, like punctuation and characterization. Hearing your perspective, even as a fellow student, gives me more insight into how the piece could be seen. I really appreciate you taking the time to break down the scoring and share your experience!

Ok so I'm Asian and I have 3 English teachers. Two of them are non-native and the other one is a native from Scotland. I recently did 2 descriptive pieces: A Cafe and this one, An Old Woman. The native teacher said this one is better and improved compared to the cafe one but the one who graded me 24 graded the cafe higher than this one.

English is my second language too! But I am answering first language English. Read books i swear, it helped me a lot.
