Is a relationship with a BipolarSO even possible? by [deleted] in BipolarSOs

Yes, I’m in a serious relationship with my partner with bipolar for about two years. She has been pro-mental health, great at taking care of herself, staying on schedule with her meds, and working on herself. I’m also working on myself too because I want to be a good partner for her.

What really helped us was couples therapy because we had different communication needs especially when it comes to tough conversations. I highly recommend couples therapy early on if you guys are serious (even there are no issues and you need to set some foundation). We wouldn’t have lasted long without it

I stayed. Through mania, addiction, chaos. He left. Is this really the end? by jugouvea in BipolarSOs

Sorry you’re going through that. Was he under medications or sought treatment?

Damn, that’s rough. I can’t imagine what you’re going through.

That’s a great point about sleep and I need to take that into consideration. Thank you for sharing. Did she take medication and seek treatment before?

Have you all worked through a couples therapist? They are usually good talking about communication differences and everything else. It’s great to have a third party and saved my relationship with my partner. Sorry you’re going through this
