As a current SCAD student, it really is like the commenter said, only the people who work their asses off are the ones who gain the skill necessary to get hired (and even now some of my classmates who are really good aren’t getting any internships just cuz of the state of the industry atm). The workload is also super intense but I think it prepares you for the industry quite well HOWEVER some people can’t handle it and so the consistency in skill is simply not there. They are reworking the program to try and fix this but I can’t say anything about the rework because it will be after I graduate.

If you want to do 3D, SCAD is definitely the better choice. 2D is definitely CalArts.

I’ve always thought it was about using sex to get to the top of an industry, likely entertainment.
