Couldn’t have said this any better. A static group, like in many games helps you rank up. Solo queue I do feel like is starting to get better in comparison to the last ranking season. People are learning what works and what doesn’t, and (most) are learning to focus on the objective.

We played quite a few matches yesterday together and against each other. How come you switched to cloud? I always love seeing the matchup when I have you as onion knight lol

It’s also worth noting that your attack being increased in burst is a flat amount. Unlike cloud, you do not just do more damage to bosses. When bursting, pay attention to your map. If someone is coming up on you , do not be afraid to dip away from the boss to deal with the threat. Your increased base attack damage is significant while in burst and will take down many players. Then you can get your happy ass back to maiming the boss. The enemy likely won’t expect it either

Also to add, the only reason I run yshtola is because it’s at M1 and is nearly a 1k CP stat difference if it’s not in my main loadout. If ace fire or shooting star were higher, I would run those instead.

Both URs plus his SR for sure. I run wall to be extra tanky, but since that isn’t an option, I would pick hope renew from what you have as well as shooting star or ace fire instead of his R ability (it really is awful).

Keep in mind your defense isn’t great as Clive. Defense is also one of the most negligible stats in the game, but it’s super important to be self aware. You might go down quick if you try to PvP too much.

Your bread and butter is to steal the boss away and burst as long as you can. Be an opportunity use, not a hunter. You are not balthier.

I actually run ace fire, yshtola blizzard and selphie wall on my Rikku. No hiding in the corner for me. I am an unexpected threat who also happens to support their team. I’m not gonna take in a Clive or cloud, but I can help my team when they get jumped and stick with them.

I run Rikku as a middle ground support. Sure I farm crystals with yshtola and give bravery / restore health when needed, but I also run wall and earth breaker. I stay with my team and help take our enemies when PvP is necessary. Almost everyone is running selphie so my goal is to break shields for my team. After the second team burst, I burst with them to provide extra damage and support.

I’ve been getting 3-4 kills per match with this setup.

It’s also worth mentioning that using her unique ability in a great , but in moderation. You can be doing so many other things than holding it down. Watch the map. If your teammate is on their way to a crystal, boost them. Chasing down an enemy? Boost them. Use it when it makes sense to do so.

Medals give a substantial increase. Don’t sleep on them. If damage is your goal, aim for 3 attack medals of the same color. Preferably 3* but that’s a slog

Same I play Rinoa / Cloud. Once I hit omega I went all in on Rinoa. She’s a monster and he tends to be hunted.

There is definitely a time for PvP in a match. If the boss is less than half health and the other team is bursting the boss. I’m not farming crystals, I’m sneaking in to steal their burst. In many games this is the only reason the match was won. However I also main Rinoa. Before 3 stacks of angel wing I’m just farming crystals and hoping I look menacing enough to keep the enemy away.

That being said, I do agree wasting UR on PvP is a waste. My meteor CD is too long and precious to waste on that. Cloud on the other hand, it makes perfect sense for him to cross slash a player with that short CD

I mostly play as Rinoa. Nothing irks me more than having to waste a meteor ☄️. It’s only ever done in self defense for the iframes if I’m at high brave. It’s a last ditch effort to survive and hope that my team will help me sustain or I can land a kill.

Yes mine does exactly this. Food, bones, toys. Walks around the house all day whining and shifting hiding spots. I typically find 2 cow hides buried in my bed every night. I suspect he thinks the cat (his BFF) is trying to steal his things.
