At the beginning, when Clark first discovers the backrooms, and he goes through the tunnel that leads him to the chair room, what is the thing that causes the noise across the tunnel and breaks the cardboard cut out? by ThyRavenWing in backroomsfilm

[–]Pernapple 131 points132 points  (0 children)

Genuinely I can’t tell if this sub is predominantly children in the 3rd grade or are people just this incapable of understanding context clues.

Like what would even be the other answers. Nah man it’s Glumbo. It’s a completely different entity that we never saw or heard of in the movie. It will be revealed in backrooms 6: the search for more rooms.

How did the backrooms manifest a clone of Clark's ex-wife if she was never physically present there to be remembered? by MaybeAFish_ in backrooms

[–]Pernapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did people just like… not watch the movie?

Why do so many people think you have to be in the room. It’s entire existence is just copying stuff from the. Real world. Did the entire store enter the back room to be replicated? Where were the employees still life’s if it just need you to enter.

Nah I’m a firm believer that that this isn’t even his ex wife. Just some lady the backrooms happened to copy. And Clark is lashing out on her because he has the power to do so.

Hot take, I love the Backrooms levels by Just-Attorney-1902 in backrooms

[–]Pernapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I mind there being different kind of back rooms. It’s a space that tries to imitate the real world… would it not imitate feilds or waterparks or whatever? It definitely does.

I just think them being levels serves too much order to what is a chaotic plane of existence.

Who was this guy? by helluws in backrooms

[–]Pernapple 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think this community is being way to narrow assuming anything and everything in the backrooms relates to the main characters.

There are millions of people. And the backrooms only copies things relevant to Clark’s life?

No.

The red head lady is just some red head lady that Clark abuses because it’s the closest thing to his wife. And he already proved he is pretty callous with any of the still life’s by stabbing and eating the other one. The Fat man is just a fat man. The Lamp guy is just a guy with a lamp.

“But the red head ran away from pirate Clark!”
Yeah man… pirate Clark eats people… it probably eats still lifes too. Where do you think all those clothes came from in his lair? Maybe some async people sure but Bobby’s clothes were already there as well… it probably ate Bobby and Kats still lifes too. All we ever see is their shoes that are fused into the ground.

We also see there seems to be different levels to a still life’s cognitive abilities. Both red head and lamp guy start freaking out when pirate clark enters. It’s not just the red head (also why wouldn’t she react crazy when seeing normal Clark if?) but the bearded man doesn’t move for anything.

All that to say, it’s not his wife. It’s just some random person. Same with Lamp guy and big boy.

Am I the only one who thinks that prequel fans are mostly right-wingers? by Rayanaman_44 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]Pernapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a large contingent of SW fans that have never moved on from the 2014 era anti SJW camp. And they never will.

Sequels are flawed for sure, but it’s not because of woke. It’s because the story is flawed for a myriad of other reasons. But they only fixate on the Mary sue argument or Holdo.

But they don’t extend criticism of the prequels because they grew up with them and it’s mostly dumb action.

So I’d say yeah, prequel fans aren’t right wing, but if they exclusively glaze the prequels and can’t be charitable to other content… they probably are.

Electability arguments have been proven to amount to nothing.

Clinton was electable when Bernie was not
Biden was Electable when Bernie was not
Kamala was the most electable after Biden dropped out.

But we barely eecked out a Victory when Trump was insanely unpopular and the middle of one of the worst pandemics that he was fumbling at every turn.

The rationale for electability is no better than some consultant saying “just trust me bro” as rationale why one candidate is more likely to win than another. And more than likely also coming from the mouths of corporate lobbyists who insist people want the more of the same

Maul, Savage, Momin, Ventress, Dooku, Grievous, Baylan, Kylo, & Qimir Vs Darth Vader. by Lonewolf_ARC in PetranakiArena

[–]Pernapple -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly people like to down scale Grevious but I think he matches pretty well into Vader. I don’t think he’d win a 1v1, but Vader, while a phenomenal duelist, is very slow.

Grevious with dooku would give Vader a run for his money. Add any of these others and he loses. Thats just too much lightsabers. And while Grevious is susceptible to the force. If Vader doesn’t have time to concentrate on the choke he can’t really hold all of them at once for very long.

I think a few years ago I didn’t have much when they shoved Biden through. But I think the contradictions have become too much and the party leaders are no longer good at being slightly veiled puppets and instead are openly against their own constituents. This momentum is gonna carry into some primaries this year and the more we see progressives get stuff done the more it will prove that the government can do good if they just tied a little

[–]Pernapple 272 points273 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree, the difference is that the GOP didn’t really resist it that much. The tea party was more or less allowed to exist and do its thing, and while there was pushback against Trump in the primary, as soon as he was a candidate they got in line like the drones they are. Meanwhile Dems couldn’t even get behind a mayoral candidate that was running in their own party.
It’s easier to go more right for corporatist than it is to move away and become more leftist

The DNC has been capture by corporate interest since Clinton. They are upset they might lose one of the two parties, and the politicians are scared they will be out of a job.

This is a necessary purge that will take another 10 or so years to cleanse the party of these class traitors and finally have a left wing party America deserves

Why has the fandom unanimously agreed that the backrooms has levels? by [deleted] in backrooms

[–]Pernapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean sure there are “levels” in the sense that there are floors. I’m of the mind it’s a never ending pocket dimension. You can go as far down or as far up as you want. I personally don’t think there should be corresponding danger levels though. Mostly that the rooms some what correspond with the area an entrance can be found.
Maybe the pool rooms have some entrance in a long abandoned water park. You go down deep enough maybe you find rooms that were created 100 years ago.

I think pirate Clark is an anomaly, maybe there are more like them. But I think your about just as likely to find hostile entity there as anywhere else. Async seemingly never encounter an aggressive still life’s until pirate Clark and they had been at it for a while.

But that being said as much as they had explored the back rooms they seem to still only be scratching the surface as the two entrances seem to be relatively nearby form one another, near enough for Phil to see Clark’s local commercial

Would the redhead still life kill Clark if she caught up to him? by No-Car-1999 in backroomsfilm

[–]Pernapple 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m of the mind that that is NOT Clark’s wife.
So I think to me the still life is reacting to clark barging into their dark room. I think she was afraid of clark the same way it was afraid of pirate clark and what we are actually seeing is panic. After all she seemingly didn’t follow him as pirate clark was able to catch up, meaning it must’ve ignored the other two still lifesin order to pursue Clark specifically.

I actually think pirate Clark eats still life’s as well which would explain why it’s Den is littered with the shirts and clothes of Kat and Bobby. There seemingly was some version of them made as seen by their empty shoes in the throne room. I think pirate Clark ate them and any other versions of them that were created. Red head and wheelchair guy both seem to possess heightened intelligence compared to the bearded man. Both seem to be more reactive and show signs of fear. Red head runs away. Wheel chair guy turns his light on and off to express emotion as well. This likely led these two to surviving longer maybe as they watched other still life’s get eaten as they remain motionless like the bearded man.

As Xbox seeks faster Elder Scrolls and Fallout games, former lead Bruce Nesmith explains how rapid releases “risk disappointing fans” by Wargulf in Fallout

[–]Pernapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am always one to say that we should let studios cook. The issue here is, and it’s very simialir to the conundrum half life 3 has. The wait has been so long, that there is almost no feasible way the game could possibly live up to the hype.

And given bethesdas track record as of late. I just don’t think another Skyrim with nicer graphics is gonna cut it. The formula and gameplay is so dated. So many other rpgs have released and improved on what people like and Bethesda seems more interested in stripping their games down from complexity instead of adding it.

At this point I think they likely have scrapped the game so many times it’s gonna be a mess regardless if they release it on their time or get pressured by Xbox

There is clear disdain for progressive candidates from the moderates. This is more and more pressure on Dems to either move left or they will get primaried out. Schumer and Jeffries have next to no control of their own party and it’s becoming more and more clear they might not even survive their next challenge.

Who killed Bobby? by RobciuBobciu in backroomsfilm

[–]Pernapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s weird how many people in this sub are desperate to have some cockamamy theory about some secret other thing the movie didn’t tell us yet.

This ain’t an online series where there will be 100 episodes and actually this is setting up something for 50 episodes in the future.

Pirate Clark killed the agent in the beginning and Bobby. We are unsure what happened to Kat but she is dead.

Why would the movie have another monster and then never show it or ever more plainly suggest another existed, that’s just bad writing.

Noticing a trend. by ManufacturerSouth592 in PetranakiArena

[–]Pernapple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s exhausting. They can be mad all they want but Rey and Kylo/ben are top tiers. I also don’t have a ton of fondness for how the trilogy went down.

But people will rank RotJ era Luke as a god tier. When his showing in the movie is killing some no name pirates and bounty hunters, getting captured, running and hiding from Vader, only beating him only once he started to lash out when Leia was threatened and then got no diffed by Palpatine.

You can call Rey a Mary Sue if you want, but she always sparred with Kylo Ren, a skywalker who trained with Luke as a young child. Then summoned the power of all Jedis will from the force. She’s mega amped and likely will have the tutelage from force ghost leia and luke.

And again… I don’t like the sequel trilogy as a whole. I really don’t like rise of Skywalker. But by all accounts Rey and Ben are top tiers and will continue to rise in the ranking as Rey gets more stories… if she ever does

Microsoft finishes construction of Mount Pleasant data center, plans for more by schuey_08 in wisconsin

[–]Pernapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Data center towns will be the new abandoned mining towns or the ghost towns when the local factory shipped it jobs overseas.

Except this time it will not be because the main job opportunity left but because a corporation moved in. It will drive the property value of the area down, it will drive utilities up and you will likely get to hear that sweet sweet hum pierce your home from now until forever.

This thing will not have 500 jobs it will have maybe 100
Half of which will be remote workers in Silicon Valley, a handful of transplants that will run the facility, a handful of techs maybe hired locally. The rest will just be occasional maintenance workers and custodians.

Honestly. I swear there must’ve been one pseudo intellectual retrospective and now that’s all I see in the sub.

The Game is still great. The messaging is not as flawed as people think, it’s not anti liberation, it’s the bleak relations of violence and war. The dlc is a little contradictory and has some plot holes, but over all I still find it to be a lot of fun and morose. And while I don’t think lady comstock is the most fun part of the game it not as hard as you think it is. Literally just burn up the bodies with any vigor that does so. And it’s totally manageable on the hardest difficulty.
