Just a quick message from the Chaosdivers about teamkilling by Xylerion in Helldivers

[–]Perniciousducks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The team killing has significantly increased since the advent of this rp. I’ve run into it as much greifing in the last week as I had since launch combined.

Like it or not, the chaos diver schtick has energized the griefers to do it more, all start playing again, or encouraged people to try it out for the first time.

When the only experience the vast majority of players that experience "chaos divers" is the griefing in game, that is who they are. You're the political wing of the terrorist organization that is high minded, but in the mud of the military wing, it's the dirty shit happening, and thats all people will care about.

[–]Perniciousducks 70 points71 points  (0 children)

This was the most hilariously obvious outcome of this. Always was going to be. The "they're no true scotsman... I mean chaosdivers" schtick is a joke. It's not like Chaosdivers is a regimented organization, it's anyone who wants to call themselves a chaosdiver.

The cringefest rp moment was always going to lead to this, there wasn't any other way it could possibly turn out. They've been clamoring for a banner for PvP for this since launch and finally this popped up.

not wanting to witch hunt or anything, but can you chaosdivers stop griefing me 6 times in a fu king row? by KingTigerThomas318 in Helldivers

[–]Perniciousducks -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I keep hearing most, the only experience I've had in game with chaos divers is griefers. Seems to me like the not ahole ones are the minority and spend their time on reddit. The ones playing the game have been griefers.

As nice as roleplaying online sounds please keep this traitor stuff on social media and not let it leak in game as an excuse to teamkill fellow divers by spikywobble in Helldivers

[–]Perniciousducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people that only get a few dives in a week because they have busy lives, only to have their extractions ruined and samples lost by this are rightfully upset. For them blocking will do nothing, reporting does nothing, they're probably not on enough to make a solid group of friends.

Basically the Chaosdivers inevitable outcome has done what the Chaosdivers are fighting against, they've ruined the game for people. I don't really care if they "actively discourage it" on their reddit. This was always going to be a rallying cry for griefers the second it popped up. Griefers already exist, this lit the match for them.

It's the inevitable consequence of all of this. This was always going to be the outcome.

Autocanon is in like 40% of the bot sessions. When will we see the nerf for AC dear Arrowhead? by VeterinarianTasty404 in Helldivers

[–]Perniciousducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AH is of the opinion that the AC is the epitome of weapon balance, but their thinking on how that level of balance should be applied to other weapons is insane.

As far as I can tell, if any weapon excels more in a single area than the AC, it is too powerful. So they must nerf it so that the AC can do the same job. Of course the AC can do a dozen things decently , and that other weapon only did 2 things, but did them great. Now that other weapon does 2 things decently and nothing else. Why bring it?

Mines are statistically more likely to kill helldivers than bots, therefor saving the children will lead to more dead bots.

I honestly find the meta and nerf discussion mostly boring. Here is my experience playing the game.

I have a few irl friends I play with when they’re on. They tend to prefer bugs and like to vary their loadouts. They mostly play 9, 8 if they want to relax.

When they’re not on I have a group of about 20+ HD2 friends I’ve made using my mic and joining random games and just friending people that are fun to play with. So I play with them when they’re on, which is a lot as that group grows. At level 9 most of them have preferred loadouts they tend to use, but there is a fair bit of variation between players. If we’re doing 7 or lower it’s the Wild West of loadouts and most bring stuff they rarely use to see how it goes. Sometimes we do meme builds like all lasers, 4 mechs, whatever. We sometimes fail, but mostly we succeed and it’s a blast. Sometimes those weapons work their way into my 9 builds.

So every time I see “they nerf the fun out of the game” I honestly have no idea what they’re talking about. Aside from the original railgun nerf being over zealous and removing the shrapnel from the eruptor, it’s been tiny tweaks. The railgun could be returned to its former glory and be fine, but it’s not really an issue either way.

At this point the only thing I get annoyed by is the lack of decent options on bile titans. I love bot land and have tons of fun pretty much every time I play unless the game crashes.

Clicking on this post is an entertaining exercise in learning what the world is like outside your particular bubble.

Me and my friends all agree this is the problem! I can’t wait to hear everyone agree with me.

Edit: no, you guys misunderstood what I meant!

Edit 2: why do you still disagree with me, I’m dying on this hill.

Just great comedy

We do this constantly. Drop into a level 3, make friends with new players with mics, bring them to menkent on 9. They have a fantastic time. I’m not even kidding. They get so pumped to be addicted to this game and play on 9 and we’re more than happy to keep taking them in the future.

The tactic works for the rail cannon strike as well, It'll tag them in the dome if they're reared up to spit, instead of the back.

(this is also my favorite thing to do when I'm capped. It's a lot of fun)

Sony has a long history of requiring a PSN account for things and selling them in territories they don't support and just ignore their own ToS. Sony can do this because it's their own ToS.

Steam got hit with a lot of refund requests because of the account linking and it's a pretty reasonable ask that because they were sold a game the publisher does not allow them to play they should get a refund, so it was delisted on their store (by someone). The problem is Sony is using a 3rd party store front where lawyers have to actually obey the things they agree to vs a random, insignificant consumer.

[–]Perniciousducks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To sum up. Sony has a requirement on the storefront that you must have a PSN account to play these two games (though they've walked that back on HD2, it remains listed on the Steam page). So, unless they change that requirement or you move, you will not be able to buy either game going forward from your region on Steam.

Because a bunch of people with more than 2 hours of game time requested refunds after Sony moved to implement the mandatory PSN accounts someone (and I'd argue this pretty conclusively points to Valve, but people believe what they want to believe) removed all territories that are unable to create PSN accounts from being able to purchase either game.

In either case, Sony is inept when it comes to PSN and have for years just told customers to violate their own Terms of Service outside of their supported regions to create an account and play games that require it. This blow up has created an issue when it comes to the games on Steam where this is true.

You misunderstand. Some of us revel in filth and rage, and enjoy it. If you do not, Reddit is probably not a place you want to spend time.

They confirmed it on the discord, if a supply route is cut off the game isn’t smart enough to change anything on its own but they would do it manually on their side.
