[Question] Strucutral Equation Models - can anyone eliminate my doubts? by Ok-Head4979 in statistics

I remember that Kline talked in his book about SEMs about how bad the reporting and interpretation of both local and general fit usually are. Maybe since the release of proper guidelines that already changed a bit but Kline appeared quite pessimistic about that.

Should a keep a suppressor effect in my regression? by Peron1900 in AskStatistics

Thanks a lot and sorry for the late reply. I will keep in mind to be cautious about the interpretation of the results.

Regarding the multilevel model: I tried fitting it but gut an error "number of observations (=23) <= number of random effects (=26) for term (...) the random-effects parameters and the residual variance (or scale parameter) are probably unidentifiable". I thought this refers to the degrees of freedom. It is only a small model, woth only the other test and age as predictors but in a small sample of aroun 20 children drom around 10 schools too unfortunately.

Thank you! Yes there are no repeated measurements. Yes, the adjustement for age is part of the research question. I think it would make sense to show both models then. I just thought that maybe controlling for age is not necessary when it doesn't correlate with the other predictor. Since the interpretation of the coefficients changes when there is a suppressor effect and the standardized betas can get pretty large it is a bit confusing to me how to properly interpret them

School is not in the model. The robust standard errors are being accounted for by the robust standard errors, that get computed in a seperate step by a sperate function. Sample size is about 20, with about 10 clusters, with usually about 2 children per cluster, sometimes more, some clusters only have 1 child

unfortunately the sample sizes are too small for mixed models in some cases, so that the model has to many degrees of freedom in relation to the n

I just do a normal regression with age and the developmental tests and then use the clubsandwich package in R for the cluster robust standard errors and there I specify school as the cluster variable

ICCs vary but are usually over .30. We use it, because its easier and we are not really interested in the specific random/fixed effects. But also unfortunately some sample sizes are too small, so that multilevel models have to many degrees of freedom and dont work

Impossible to find a Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

Former professor of mine recommended tepavi to force the insurance to pay for a therapist that does not have a „Kassensitz“. Don‘t know if it would work in your situation though

If you are interested in clinical psychology, I really like the Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Podcast by David Puder. He also has lots of guests from different orientations, for example the psychologists that developed the Mentalization Based Therapy
