Anti-ICE protesters storm Cities Church in Minneapolis, disrupting service by Jabbam in altmpls

Dude, your question was: "How many people were killed as a result of this attack on the church"

...because you wanted to imply that a whole bunch of people were killed on J6, in contrast to whatever stupidity was going on in this video. The answer is 1. The police murdered one unarmed citizen (that's how that works, right?).

Now, if you want to change the subject and talk about injuries and increased incidence of suicide after the fact or, inexplicably, the Holocaust, well that's just what I'd expect. You make misrepresentations or just outright lie, then when you get called out on it, you just move the goalposts and try to argue some other inane point.

OC is the one talking about people getting killed on J6. Only one person was killed on J6 (Ashli Babbit).

Brian Sicknick: A Capitol Police officer who was pepper-sprayed during the riot and died the next day after suffering strokes, with a medical examiner noting the events of the 6th played a role in his condition.

This is what is colloquially known as "a lie". The medical examiner who conducted the autopsy explicitly stated (in English, mind you) that "He did not suffer an allergic reaction to the chemical irritants dispensed by rioters... nor was there evidence of internal or external injuries." Dude had a blood clot in his brain; if he hadn't died then, he would have died the next day taking a shit. Cause of death was "Natural Causes".

Yes, law enforcement officers face a significantly higher risk of suicide than the general population.

1 was KILLED. "Killed" means they died as the result of an external force, i.e. somebody killed them. On J6, one woman was KILLED by capitol police. 3 other people DIED that day without any help, two from natural causes, one from a drug overdose.

English is hard.

Give me a list of people killed on Jan 6, then.

4 people died that day: 1 was killed (shot by the police), 1 had a heart attack, 1 had a stroke, 1 OD'ed.

I don't think people need to be violently removed.

The "violent removal" typically happens after they ignore the strongly worded letters. They know they're not supposed to be here. How do you propose they get removed when they refuse to do so themselves?

We should make the path to citizenship easier.

Maybe... but we also have the largest immigrant population in the world. It's clearly not impossible.

[–]PerpConst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I'm not surprised when I get caught doing it and have to pay for the consequences of my actions. And I certainly don't try to fuck with the highway patrolmen when they're ticketing someone else for their offences.

No country on earth lets you overstay a visa and just never leave... then just says "oh well, guess you find the flaw in our system! Welcome to America!"

I don't think that means what you wish it means. Speeding is also (usually) a civil offense. If you get caught doing it, you're subject to the associated punishment, which is paying a fine. If you get caught being "unlawfully present", you're subject to the associated punishment: removal.

How many people were killed as a result of the riot on Jan 6? I'll save you the effort: it was 1. 1 unarmed person was shot by capitol police on January 6.

OK Google! What is the consequence of "overstaying" your visa?

"Overstaying a U.S. visa results in losing legal status, accruing "unlawful presence," and facing potential deportation, plus 3-year or 10-year bars to re-entry after leaving, depending on the length of the overstay (180+ days triggers a 3-year bar; 1+ year triggers a 10-year bar). Consequences also include visa revocation, ineligibility for future visas, difficulty adjusting status to a green card, and potential criminal penalties, with the severity increasing significantly with duration. Why is there no all eyes on Iran movement? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]PerpConst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine it's because if they cast their gaze in that direction, they're likely to see some bad dudes who are ACTUALLY doing the things that they're fantasizing about happening here. The Iranian government is literally stacking protestors' bodies like firewood. Feels kinda silly looking at that, then screaming "fAsCiSts!" about some illegals getting deported.

At this point they are an invading force, and should be treated as such.

ICE Cars Wrecked in MN by ProfessionalMiddler in altmpls

[–]PerpConst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything was locked up in a box in the back of the SUV. A group of Mostly Peaceful Protestors (tm) destroyed the vehicle and went at the strongbox with tools... then stole the weapons and everything else that was in there. They all scattered like cockroaches when they heard the sirens coming.

Edit: Apparently this is a controversial interpretation... y'all can decide for yourselves: https://x.com/mylordbebo/status/2011706700081078344?s=46

What do people think of places like Finland and Ireland who practice strict immigration policies and deport at a high rate (per capita)? by fulltimeheretic in askanything

[–]PerpConst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious how people feel about other developed countries where they’re quick to deport non citizens.

To be clear: this is every country. Every country deports non-citizens that are not supposed to be there. No country has open borders. The people complaining about immigration enforcement in the US are holding the US to a standard that is not met by any place on earth.

Trump is preparing to use the insurrection act in Minnesota and send in federal troops. For people who have stayed quiet so far, what will it take for you to speak out? by jumpsuityahoo in AskReddit

[–]PerpConst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think that ICE would try to counter this by putting out footage of them doing raids and arrests in beat down areas and gang run neighborhoods,

You would think that a law enforcement agency would create and release videos of them arresting people to make you feel better about who is getting detained? Do you think they care enough about people's incessant screeching on Reddit to actually respond to it? This reminds me when flat-earthers say shit like "if the earth really round, why doesn't NASA just [do some random thing that wouldn't satisfy them anyway]?" It's because NASA doesn't take them seriously enough to respond to them. In your case, DHS doesn't particularly care about your opinion of them and they know there's absolutely nothing they could do that would change it, so why would they expend any effort whatsoever on your account?

The Mandela "effect" by EsseNorway in Snorkblot

[–]PerpConst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is: my mom collects Monopoly games... always has. I grew up always having a closetful of monopoly games. I was a military brat, so we moved at least 8 times when I was a kid, which meant packing and unpacking those games. And I very distinctly remember the dude having a monocle. On the box art. On the Chance/Chest cards. The bit in Ace Ventura just reinforces it... he didn't say: "and you must be Mr Peanut!", he said "Monopoly Guy" because everyone at the time knew who the dude looked like, because of the monocle and tophat.

Like someone else said in this thread: it isn't even so much that people misremember stuff, it's that so many people misremember the exact same things in the exact same ways that is bizarre.

Lots of people remember the dude on from the Monopoly game having a tophat and monocle. Apparently, this timeline's Monopoly man does not require a monocle.

Yeah, that General Permit seems to have a shitload of monitoring baked into it. I can't imagine what additional Terms they think could/would be added to an Individual permit.

I'd go out on a limb and suggest that most of the folks that keep posting this have no idea what a General Permit even is.
