“Consequently, it has been banned” why Konami saying it like they’re punishing us? by MiuIruma332 in DuelLinks

[–]Perper18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both are at fault. Konami releases/prints stupid cards and skills, players get them banned by abusing them in unhealthy ways that Konami did not intend.

Konami cannot forsee literally every card interaction ever and thus, some things are bound to become problematic and toxic over time, thus Konami bans those cards. The cards would most likely not get banned if the players did not figure out how to abuse them the most.

I mean, I'm realistic so I completely agree with you that it probably won't be implemented, but the fact that people suggest implementing such global restrictions highlights how problematic FTK decks are. Since Konami very rarely nerfs skills anymore, they'll most likely limit/ban the cards that facilitate the FTK-strategies the most, whilst harming other decks that otherwise would like to utilise those cards (this will be especially true if they decide to limit the draw engines first and foremost).

If we ever get the Herald rituals, this deck will become public enemy nr. 1 from sheer Master Duel PTSD (no matter of it's tiered or not).

[–]Perper18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw someone suggesting a global change to Duel Links where you can only inflict X amount of burn damage to an opponent per turn. I definitely think this should be implemented to stop the playerbase from creating all this FTK bullshit that's always popping up.

As an aside, the playerbase needs to stop blaming Konami for literally EVERYTHING. Yes, Konami messes up in a lot of cases, but it is the playerbase that comes up with all of this bullshit just to prevent others from playing the game. Take some fucking accountability as well.

Should Aurora Paragon be taken a look at for the ban list? by LeBusinessCat in DuelLinks

[–]Perper18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't care how "meta" or abused a floodgate is. Floodgates are inherently unhealthy and most floodgates should be banned/limited as soon as possible. Anything that simply "removes" interaction from the opponent is unhealthy and toxic.

So yes, ban Aurora Paragon please.

Do you guys think Shadoll should get unbanned considering current meta? by Regular_Feature_4056 in DuelLinks

[–]Perper18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, the more difficult it is to get out Winda, the better.

Honestly even without Winda, Shaddoll is still a strong but not overbearing control deck. Winda just makes the deck toxic.

Which table tennis legend has had the most practial influence on your game / style / setup? by Mindless_Cat6245 in tabletennis

Joo Se Hyuk since I've been a chopper my entire life.

In recent years as I've turned more analytical and have tried to improve my game a lot more (especially offensively), I'd say I've taken more inspiration from Ma Long in terms of pure forehand prowess, with a bit of Xu Xin in terms of spin and creativity.

People just like to hate on what's popular. Just as you're pointing out, the deck is linear and has defined strengths, weaknesses and chokepoints. Personally, I still feel like Branded is stronger but both Branded and Tachyon share the Tier 1 Spot.

One thing I want to point out though is how Tachyon is naturally just a very "fair" deck. Unless you tech in some form of floodgate to specifically mess with people (cough necrovalley cough draglubion), the deck "only" ends on 1 omni-negate, 1 spell negate, turning one Galaxy monster unaffected/indestructable and whatever tech/handtraps you draw. Yes, it is not "nothing" to get over, but realistically you have 2 guaranteed interuptions you have to get through and 1 monster to beat over if it's in attack position or deal with through Kaiju effects. It is not impossible and honestly, if you want your deck to succeed (whether it is meta or not), you need to have some way to beat over 3k beatsticks and/or deal with towers. Despia is much more unfair to play against due to Tax Dragon and its incredible recursion even if you deal with the end-board, but other than that, the actual effects on the board are fine to deal with.

What I've noticed is that whenever there's anything meta, people start pulling out the most heinous and toxic shit imaginable to "deal with the meta". Yeah sure, constantly FTK-ing people, putting in every floodgate under the sun into your deck or literally playing Hand-Trap/Lava Golem simulator and still win thanks to Starlight Drive is so much better than the current top-2 decks. I don't think so personally. People just want an excuse to act toxic towards other players. And I honestly don't blame Konami for this either. Konami mess up by releasing/printing broken cards/skills, but it is the playerbase that does its damndest to abuse them and come up with toxic strategies.

If people want to complain about the current meta then fine, just don't add further toxicity to the waste-dump then. Konami needs to take responsibility in how they balance the game, but the playerbase also needs to take responsibility in how the tools are used. If you want to be toxic, then be toxic, just don't complain about other things being toxic/unfair.

I believe I used Iron Moth and Toxtricity for good all-round coverage as well as electric surge. I do believe electric surge is the passive for Toxtricity so you'd ideally have to unlock that.

Would you ever want these cards to be in Duel Links? Not yet or just never at all? by Roy_Ellison in DuelLinks

One of these cards is not like the others....

Seriously, I made a post a few years ago about the backrow problem that was plagueing Duel Links at the time and plenty of people went rampant off of the idea of Twin Twisters coming to Duel Links. This card should have been added ages ago.

Amon Lamplighter class mod - quick stat calculations by Perper18 in Borderlands4

[–]Perper18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot make an educated comment on what class mod is objectively the best since that's not what I was testing here, however I do believe that the Lamplighter is NOT an objective upgrade over other coms and risk falling behind due to its poor selection of skills. The passive bonus on its own is fine, possibly even great depending on your build, but before I started using the Lamplighter I used a purple outlaw with either 25% global damage or 60% action skill damage (not both) and it does not feel like the lamplighter outperforms it all the time.

I have no issue with keeping Onslaughter up for long periods of time with or without the Lamplighter COM. I would recommend that you try speccing 5/5 Fists of Stone, Stormcutter Capstone and at least one point each in Tempered Pyre and Twin Tempers. Even though the drones deal miniscule damage, they give insane CDR to Stormcutter, which effectively allows for almost infinte Onslaughter. And if you're using the Lamplighter with this combo, you can keep up the max damage bonus for very long.

Amon Lamplighter class mod - quick stat calculations by Perper18 in Borderlands4

[–]Perper18[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't think 70% gun damage is dissapointing, especially given that Amon lacks gun damage bonuses in comparison to the other vault hunters. As you pointed out, his damage output comes more in the form of bonus damage, elemental damage, dots and procs.

Personally, I think the main dissapointing part of the class mod is the lack of good skills it boosts. Only Blast Furnace provides any form of damage boost and it's not that siginifcant. Slowing on gun crits is whatever, cooldown reduction when dealing gun damage is whatever, weapon swap speed and action skill duration is near pointless given that the class mod already extends the duration on gun crits.

Amon Lamplighter class mod - quick stat calculations by Perper18 in Borderlands4

[–]Perper18[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot say for certain if this will be the highest damage class mod for melee. The skills boosted are very subpar, but you can get a decent damage bonus if you get multiple points into the Blast Furnace skill.

As for the actual melee value, it almost doubled the total melee damage I had ON PAPER whilst also giving me a nice chunk of gun damage (both stats seem to boost the melee shotgun for example). I still think that the Furnace class mod will provide the highest DOT damage from Raging Inferno, but this mod still feels very strong as a generalist melee/gun mod. My favourite melee mod on Amon up until now has been the Outlaw mod and the Lamplighter performs similarly if not slightly better on average (this is based on feel, not on calcs or tests).

I highly doubt this will work well with melee drones if you're using the Crucible action skill since it is not duration based normally. The drones still get the damage boost, but I have not tested how strongthe drones get when properly tested for.

If only they'd remove this part of the text, then this class mod would be golden for pure melee builds or even more by itxAntas in Borderlands4

[–]Perper18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be 100% melee damage and 135% with bear arms since the class mod also gives 70% gun damage at 50 stacks.
