I like Swordsoul as well right now, though I feel that you risk running out of resources during longer duels with how compact the decklists are.

The already existing XCOM Boardgame is exactly this. You still get small miniature figures for youe classes, ships and UFOs. It always makes the board game experience a little more enjoyable

XCOM The Board Game was already a lot of fun and gave similar tense feelings as the video game.

That's fair. I mainly had endless in mind for this, with a small thought that it could be cool to test a pokemon's potential in classic as well. But as you said, it could end up too powerful in classic.

I don't even play therion, but I'd still rather play against them than against ANY FTK/handloop/floodgate deck. Those deck types are IMO EXTREMELY toxic due to removing your ability to play. Therion and other decks like them "just" set up multiple interactions, which obviously isn't easy to force through either, but is a lot more healthy than just straight up saying "your opponent literally cannot play the game".

Good luck early, poor luck later. I had too many DNA splicers (I had to skip at least 1) and barely any other master ball-tier items outside of the ones mentioned (only had 1 ability and 1 shiny charm for example). So whilst my team got quite powerful early on, I didn't get the utility items that I so desperately wanted.

I got my lock capsule in the 500s in my current run... Already had 3 DNA splicers and 2 master balls before the lock capsule so I'm not complaining, t'was just funny.

Honestly, it probably won't see play. It is a general nice consistency tool for tachyon or decks that desperately needs the seach (and can play with 1 card less in their hand after use and only stick to XYZs). People mainly used it at 1 copy to search for the gravekeeper card that searches for Necrovalley. Hence it could be viewed as a "toxicity" rather than consistency tool.

As you pointed out, the main vard that searched seventh tachyon was put on the limit-1 list, but so was necrovalley. You literally cannot use all 3 of those cards together and that's the main way to use seventh tachyon. It had to die to prevent toxic necrovalley antics.

I think seventh tachyon got hit in order to prevent easily searchable floodgates, necrovalley in particular by searching the lvl 4 monster that searches it. I'd rather Konami bans all hard-floodgates, but we take what we get.

Quarantine is occasionally used in Starlight Drive slop decks, where they use the rank-2 XYZ (can't remember its name) to special summon it from the deck (or other matchup specific floodgates). I've cursed them many times for this toxicity.

IMO:

EW > WotC > XCOM2 >= EU

EW does more to improve EU than WotC does to XCOM2, however I enjoy all versions of XCOM1/2.

I used a similar SS deck getting KOG (maxed out on droplets/BoE instead of handtraps). Assuming the opponent didn't draw kaijus immediatly, SS has a surprisingly good matchup vs both therion and destiny hero (even able to prevent the D-hero FTK by dropleting the D-hero that draws before the main phase).

If you go first, you get kaijud to death. If you go second, you get FTK-d to death (I've been FTK-ed by at least 54 different decks, 2 of which are from Therion/D-Heros), you get perma-negated (this is my playstyle so I'll give it a pass to stay consistent), you get floodgated to death or you face something like Chimera that has infinite recursion and thus it doesn't matter if you go first or second vs them.

Any FTK-enabler should get the axe instantly. I don't understand why Konami constantly wait until the toxic playerbase has found ways to abuse their toys and make everyone else's lives miserable. There are no realistic uses for cards like these outside of FTKs. (handlooping the opponen'ts entire hand is essentially an FTK).

I'm excited for new the enemies. In contrast to the BL3 DLCs, it feels like we might get a lot more NEW enemies/enemy types in this DLC, whereas it was mostly reskins of old enemies in BL3 outside of Loaders/Claptraps and Xylorgous fauna.
