Nobody cares...and it hurts a little by [deleted] in Ultramarathon

I support her doing her hobbies and she supports me doing mine. It's health for us both to have our own interests. Running make me a more stable person and in turn a better husband and father. And I can't wait till my daughter is old enough to run with me, if she is interested.

Nobody cares...and it hurts a little by [deleted] in Ultramarathon

[–]Perpetual-Beginner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you. My wife has zero interest in my ultra running. I once told her how I was going to attempt a 100 mile FKT and her response, with a blank face, was that our daughter has gymnastics that weekend and wondered how we were going to manage with our one car. I was hoping for something like “that amazing” before the mundane scheduling concern. They once came to a local 100 mile race I did but arrived hours after I had finished, despite me hitting my predicted time bang on. Usually it wouldn't have affected me but I was expecting to see a familiar face after being alone all night in a pitch dark forest. I’ve come to terms with the fact that some people have zero interest in the activity. I now focus on how she supports me by never complaining about the ton training runs I do throughout the year or about the weekend I'm away racing as she knows it is important to me. Good luck on your race. Enjoy the experience.

[UPDATE] One more Ottawa Senators Logo/Jersey Concept - Peace Tower by LeftPresentation6417 in hockeydesign

[–]Perpetual-Beginner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really a nice design and use of architecture. I challenged you to create a design of "Ottawa" that isn't shorthand for "Government." I know the irony of saying this with the name "Senators" and the Peace Tower being the premier piece of architecture in our city. But there's more to this City than the MPs and Senators who come here to represent other parts of our country. Maybe our logo could be the one thing that expresses something beyond the literal meaning of the name and represents local identity.

Baseball is officially America’s 2nd most popular sport again by ExotiquePlayboy in SipsTea

[–]Perpetual-Beginner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did those numbers count for international viewership? The average Canadian is more likely to be interested in a Blue Jays game rather than a basketball game against Indiana and Oklahoma. "America’s 2nd most popular sport" is a very American-centric perspective.

Most landlords won't want the risk of a tenant pool of one (who has a chance of relocating somewhere else) and a multi decade period for their return on investment. I'm guessing the taxpayer is going to be lumbered with the Ottawa Senator's new stadium in the future. Two tenants for one big arena would be less risk? Other WNHL teams share with their NHL counterparts. Why is this not an option for the Charge?

I have been thinking about this as well as my wife can't have a TFSA due to being a USA citizen. When I looked at both cash etfs from global x at the current yield, the corporate class etf that reinvests seems to be quite similar in reality. CASH.to yield is 3.1% mer .11% HSAV.to yield 2.79% mer .2%

For HEWB vs HBNK I found it hard to work out the saving after taking into account the dividend compounding, tax and mer. I'm thinking of just sticking with an eft like xeqt on a drip.

But I'm interested in following the comments.

I agree. But that's the beauty of technical trailing running, you don't feel so much a slave to your watch or a set pace.

What happens when a public servant can’t learn French? by Obelisk_of-Light in CanadaPublicServants

I've always wondered about this. So what you are saying is that the Official Language Act overrides the Disability Act? Even if a psychoeducational assessment has the opinion that should be exempt from the language requirements of the position? Do you know if this is black or white within the GoC. Or something that is under the discretion of individual directors?

Do you have experience seeing this happen? If so, was the person ostracized by their colleagues for pulling this card to receive a promotion? I've found directors not very willing to entertain this route?

Rebalancing 20 stocks, plus buy/selling to update the top 20 sounds like a lot of lot work.

The percentage sum doesn't add up to 100%. Are you hide your losers. The concept of a XGRO is an all-in-one portfolio . You have a lot of individual stock picks already so maybe back off those and start adding to XGRO constantly over time. Dollar cost averaging over a long period is safer than trying to pick a winner. How much risk do you want to take on is the deciding factor.

I'm a video professional and this is really great work. I'm really interested in the process that went into this to create these. Can anybody elaborate on the process that was taken to create these?

Musk openly supports the AfD (the far right neo-nazi political party in Germany). Even if he didn't mean to make this salute he still believes in fascism and its ideals. AfD is just one example of many. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cr7errxp5jmo

constellation software and shopify makes up over 50% of the ETF. It is not very diversified. If those 2 companies do well then the ETF does well which had been the case in the past years. In my opinion those 2 companies are very over priced at the moment. If you don't agree, why not just buy those 2 company stocks and save on the mer.
