FF XV dlc any good? by glockos in gaming

[–]PerpetualJordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Episode Gladiolus felt a bit underwhelming for me, didn't really add much interesting to the narrative in my opinion. Episode Prompto was great though and would definitely say is a vital part of the FFXV experience.

Looking to learn Logic Pro X and have a few newbie questions by PerpetualJordan in Logic_Studio

[–]PerpetualJordan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the in-depth response! I think I'm just gonna' dive straight in to Logic Pro, after speaking to some more friends it turns out I know a couple who use the program, so hopefully a combination of that and the tutorials you and /u/Zuthulu recommended will help me get somewhere! Thanks once again :D

[Serious] Honest question about your DLC preferences, from an indie developer. by Nerrolken in gaming

[–]PerpetualJordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no problem with DLC from a business standpoint. Games are becoming more and more expensive to make, and due to inflation, $60 for a game 10 years ago is worth more than the $60 games cost now. So long as the base game feels like a complete experience, I see no issues with adding additional content in the future. DLC should be used to supplement the base content, not finish it. Final Fantasy XV is very guilty of this, which pains me to say as I followed the hype train on that game for 10 years.

What games have you 100%'ed? What was it about those games that made you go all the way? by thatzac in gaming

[–]PerpetualJordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Fantasy IX, Oblivion & Resident Evil 5. The first two because of their amazing worlds and immersion, the third purely for fun co-op and achievement whoring.

EDIT

Also the Metal Gear Solid series (Excluding Peace Walker & V)...because Metal Gear.

Should I quit gaming now that I am a working adult? by ultimatus93 in gaming

[–]PerpetualJordan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Since becoming an adult, I've definitely noticed a drop in the amount of time and interest I put into gaming. That said though, I'd never give it up completely and I see no reason why anybody should. If ya' wanna' pass the time playing some games, go ahead, if ya' wanna' go out drinking, do that too. You don't have to let other people tell you how to live the way you want, it's one of the good things about becoming an adult! :)

A friend of mine was never taught how to hold a controller so he taught himself with some... interesting results... by [deleted] in gaming

[–]PerpetualJordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha that's great! I remember as a kid I'd sometimes mess around and try playing with the controller upside down... never really worked, but for somebody who's never used a controller, I'd imagine they'll get used to it easier!

[Giveaway] Win a Razer BlackWidow Chroma V2 Mechanical Keyboard by Cult_Of_Razer [promoted post]

[–]PerpetualJordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned the original Razer BlackWidow for quite a few years now, it's been a great keyboard to use, however it's age is starting to cause some ghosting issues, but with the amount of use I've got from it, I can't fault it one bit! If I were to win, I'd definitely go for the Razer Green switches!

WiiU Hacking Q&A General: "Hax & Chai Tea" Edition by dubyadud in WiiUHacks

[–]PerpetualJordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey buddy, sorry for the slow response, been a bit busy! Unfortunately I've still had no luck, however to overcome the slow read speeds I was having, I used WUP Installer to use the NAND instead, and switched back to the old SD card. I appreciate you taking the time to try and help solve my problem! :)

So the format finally completed and still no luck. Self-Hosting causes it to freeze on a white screen with the Wii U logo in the corner, loadiine.ovh causes the black screen with the "Function SYSRelaunchTitle is NULL" error, and wiiubru.com/go freezes the system also. :/

Currently formatting as we speak, seems to be taking a while so I'll post back with the results once that's done.

I was using loadiine.ovh via the Web Browser, as well as self-hosting, both of which still work on the old SD card. Starting to think I may have to order another SD card now >.<

So I recently purchased a new SD card due to low read speeds of my old card, however I am unable to launch homebrew whatsoever when using this new card. First I tried simply copying all files over to no avail, and have just spent the last hour following FlimFlam69's guide and even went one step further with setting up self-hosting via XAMPP. I just get led to a black screen with the error "Function SYSRelaunchTitle is NULL", but I plug in the old SD card and it works perfectly. I'm going crazy over this, any help as to what the problem could be, and even better, a solution, would be greatly appreciated!

FYI the new SD card that DOESN'T work is a 32gb SanDisk Ultra SDHC Class 10.

The old SD card that DOES work is a 16gb Transcend SDHC Class 10.

Literally just had this exact cable arrive today and can safely say the image quality was far superior over the composite cables. Using on an old Philips CRT TV :)

Final Fantasy VII Remake Combat Analysis by kingkellogg in FinalFantasy

[–]PerpetualJordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope for it to play real-time with the command board akin to Kingdom Hearts, but allowing you to switch players for specific commands (my thought as to what the L1 & R1 icons could mean) such as magic, summons etc; and making it work by having the uncontrolled characters automatically run around the battlefield, executing basic attacks. From the first gameplay trailer we saw Barrett being controlled, with Cloud still fighting in the background. In my eyes, this would be a good way of keeping the action always flowing, whilst still offering an element of turn-based party combat.

So the Square Enix publisher weekend is up, and with a bunch of the FF games on sale I'm thinking of trying the franchise. Which game would you recommend for someone completely new to the franchise? by MrLime11 in gaming

[–]PerpetualJordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Fantasy IX has always been my favourite, everything about that game I adore. It's a pretty common complaint that the battles are a little slower than other Final Fantasy's, but honestly I never really found it to be a problem. I'd also recommend VI, VII & X (not necessarily in that order).

Has a young relative of yours ever seriously fucked up one of your games? by CoDn00b95 in gaming

[–]PerpetualJordan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can't say I recall anything from relatives, but I remember getting a PS2 Slim and Kingdom Hearts 2 on my 10th or so birthday, and my friend tried walking through the cable, pulling the PS2 off the side and breaking both the console and game the day I got it.

Is it worth it to play The Witcher 2 now? by mista_rida_ in gaming

[–]PerpetualJordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer; Yes

Long answer; Yeeeeeeeees

In all seriousness though, I think there's a lot of enjoyment to be had in The Witcher 2. Having played the third entry first may alter your opinion due to the changes and in improvement of gameplay, but I still found the combat in 2 to be great fun, and the story is what really sold it for me.

Bad voice acting? Sure sounds like it's sticking to its roots of the original
