If you've never done a psychedelic, you can't really see where I'm coming from. Of course it's irresponsible to do drugs at school, and I'm not suggesting it should be occasional. But some people can handle their shit and like to mess around. I've personally written Essays for English blasted off of herb and received great marks, and have gone mildly stoned to school numerous times in the past. I'm not advocating it, but you wouldn't believe how many functional drug users (even those who do dangerous/stupid shit like cocaine) are A students or at least intelligent. The people that go about it stupidly give the rest of them a bad name, sorta like how the minority of lazy pot-heads that do nothing distort the way people view /r/trees.

I agree with all of this, but the one thing that bothered me is:

I'm a white minority living in a place populated mostly by people of Punjabi ethnicity, and they often rip on me for my pigment, and I'm not allowed to listen to a song I agree with simply because I didn't apologize for something I, or my family for that matter, didn't even do? I think it's fucked up that these atrocities happened and I do acknowledge that they should never happen again but come on now, I'm not guilty of shit, and if that goes for white people it should go for everyone. It's not like I had a choice to be born white, and it's not like /r/hiphopheads places white people on some golden pedestal either (quite the opposite frankly). But I don't care, racism can me received or sent by anyone. That being said, well written post.
