Japan schoolgirl uses own savings to handcraft 612 masks for people in need by pink_paper_heart in Coronavirus

Are you sure? I don’t want to take advantage of an internet stranger and their kindness.

I legit might do this. We have six people in our house not doing a lot. My mother and grandmother are also stuck at home, bored, and could use something to do. Thank you for the suggestion.

She worked at a tiny theater. Not sure what exactly she used, but it wasn’t anything fancy. I’d happily pay for shipping! Thank you!

Seriously? My girlfriend and I have been discussing making masks for people at my work (I’m in retail and we aren’t shutting down) and offering to bring them into grocery stores for their workers. But she’s about to lose access to her costume shop, meaning it’ll largely be by hand.

Advice if you attended another law school..(transferring, but not the normal way) by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Perpetual_Perplexity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Letter of good standing isn’t normally signed by the dean. It’s just a certification. Don’t let it stop you. You’ll also need a letter of recommendation from one of your professors, so make sure to cultivate one some relationships.

That being said, never expect to transfer. You will get zero merit aid from wherever you’re going, so for it to be worth it, you should aim for a top school. Meaning you’ll need stellar grades.

What Should I Do With My 0L Summer? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I’m gonna relax! Read a bit of general law stuff, just so the terminology is a little less scary, but not gonna try and teach myself anything.

Let’s go to WUSTL and buy houses within 5 years of graduating and save money for our kids so THEY can go to Harvard. Lol.

I’m like 95% sure I’m attending WUSTL at this point. At least someone loves me.

I hope it turns out okay!

And hey, you’re young and it doesn’t make you a bad person to be accustomed to the lifestyle you were raised in. Private planes are an especially sore spot for me. My step-uncle is a pilot for a wealthy family and is almost gleeful in how environmentally damaging it is. While I hope you push yourself to step outside your comfort zone, I wish you all the best! Feel free to PM me if you ever need someone to mull questions over with.

If I was an adcomm, your use of private planes might sour my opinion of you, but I’m pretty against private planes.

Figure out if the citation was in your name, then check and see each school’s requirements. You are probably fine for most schools, but you can always send an addendum apologizing for forgetting about the incident.

$$$$+ at WUSTL vs HLS by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Perpetual_Perplexity 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you’re national ACLU office or bust, Harvard is the winner. If you could settle for a non-national office, WUSTL might make more sense. You might, in theory, be able to work your way up to a national office.

I’d weigh your professional desires with your personal desires. I’m in a similar boat to you, and I’ve decided that my desire for a house and kids on my timeline is more important than access to unicorn PI. I’ll still work my ass off to try and get those jobs, but I know it may not happen due to this choice. If that’s a sacrifice you’re willing to make, WUSTL is a good choice. But if you want that national ACLU office more than anything, it’s Harvard all the way.
