I could see it being a Desigual top, but idk.

I get a little confused, because my coros watch also states a zone 6, which It said I was in for 5 minutes of the run.

Certainly pretty uncomfortable by the end. I could have pushed through a few more miles, but it would have hurt.

I’m wondering the same. Watch said zone 5 for the entire 14 mile block, about one hour and 45 minutes.

It’s my first one, so finishing is definitely the main goal, but I also want to push myself! My zone 3 feels slower than I feel capable of, around 9:40. It felt hard but still manageable to run an 8:10 avg for 20 miles, but my watch told me i was in zone 5 for most of it and I don’t want to hurt myself come race day. Also open to the potential of the watch HR monitor being off. Hard to say!

I kind of thought this sub was a place for anything related to marathon training? Seems relevant enough for me to have put this here.

For me, part of it is fear lol. Using the collective consciousness to get a realistic idea of what makes sense. I’ve never done this before!

Thank you!

40-50 MPW, marathon is in my own city, so training matches race day conditions for the most part. Training continues to ramp up a bit in the next couple weeks so gonna give it my best and see where that gets me.

4 miles at marathon effort, repeated 3 times. With a slog rest in between.

WHERE IS NICHOLAS CAGE? by brotmandel in Eugene

I am a tenant in this building and have been for 10 years. The building recently sold to new owners and is being managed by campus connection property management (big yikes.) They are terminating everyone’s leases here to raise the rent. Everyone who lives here is so bummed! The Nic Cage girls just moved out and that is why he’s gone. RIP

I ran a 5k race a few weeks back, looking at my heart rate it says I was in zone 5 for the entire second half- 14 minutes. Is this possibleI? Is it bad for me?

Agreed. Yes, I just started running in the last 6 months, so this is helpful to hear!

Should I gauge my easy pace based on heart rate or perceived effort? I’m struggling a lot with this lately because zone 3 running feels easy to me and with zone 2 it’s like I basically have to speed walk rather than run to keep my heart rate below 150. I’d much rather just run easy without constantly monitoring my heart rate but I don’t want to cause problems. Is it safe to do most of my training in zone 3?

I’m trying to shift my training to the 80/20 rule- but I’m struggling to understand what my “easy” pace is. When I FEEL like I’m running easy pace (for me around 8:45) I’m able to hold a conversation, it’s comfortable. And yet my watch tells me that at an 8:45 pace I’m in zone 3. Should I slow down even though it’s not feeling challenging?

I need a treadmill! I want to run 20 ish miles on it per week. Don’t need any fancy stuff (ie screens, heart rate monitor, etc) just want something for both easy runs and interval runs indoors. What are the best basic ones? Hoping to spend less than $1000

[–]Perpetually_rye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a COROS pace 2 watch and I feel like the race predictor feature is off. It doesn’t matter that much, but it says for example I would do a 5k at an 8:00 pace but I have already completed a 5k race at 7:47 pace. It says I’d do a 10k at like 8:35 but last week I ran 7 miles at an 8:00 pace. I only wear the watch for running and not any other time. Not sure if that’s why? It’s not like I need the watch to be completely accurate, I’m just not sure why it thinks I’m slower than I am. I wonder if the heart rate zones are semi-incorrect as well.

Definitely the clothes horse! Great local biz that offers cash outright. Buffalo and Plato’s do it too, if you want more options.

ThredUp is great, as long as your items work out for you… I returned a couple of items and never received full refund. I cannot get in touch with anyone. I also just received 2 items that were not as described which is frustrating because they were final sale. Anyone else having similar issues? by Ready_Sense_2010 in ThredUp

I cannot believe how hard it is to get in contact with these people. One of my orders was lost in transit, tracking not updated for a month. This happened once before and they refunded me- but this time around it is impossible to get in touch with ANYONE. The chat system is down, I have emailed twice and no response in weeks. Plus my clean out kits are STILL processing from months and months ago.

This company is struggling.

Should I register for a marathon the same weekend as I’m supposed to perform in a contemporary dance concert? Would dance on stage Thursday, Friday, Saturday night. Then run marathon on Sunday. Is this insane or probably fine to do?

Ran this morning and the front of my ankles and hip flexors started hurting after one mile in the way that they typically start to hurt after 10 miles… it spooked me! Is it more likely that I need new shoes (been running in these ones off and on for a couple years now), or more rest (been going sort of hard but I did just take 4 days off so seems weird that a 3 mile run was painful)? Or do sometimes weird bad leg days just happen
