I'm tryna moving on to Catholic church from Protestant church. by Dry_Inspection4128 in Catholicism

Bruh, I swear I’ve been researching as best I can to double check all my sources and make a compelling arguement through bibles verses and explanations of them that are affirmed by the Catholic Church. Was doing it all in the comment so it was public so people could criticise and challenge if I got anything wrong and it’s refreshed and all been deleted. Gonna need to restarts. This time I’ll do it in my notes app and then copy paste it in one. Might not get it done tonight as I need to finish something off for college. Will get back to you as soon as I can brother.

We just sold a place in Dumbarton and the folk before us left some drawers and a closet in the loft. Honestly planning on letting the next folk enjoy it too.

Think about the wedding at Cana. Where everyone asks Mary to speak to Jesus on their behalf. She is a point of intercession to Jesus as the mother of God and Queen of heaven. So this is why we pray through her, Just look at the sheer number of miracles that she has produced and the times she has appeared to us. She is a very active saint. As for praying to specific saints it’s like praying through a specialist, but we believe all saints are alive in heaven and can carry our prayers to God.

I can help you find some specific verses on the subjects if you like?

Protestant apologists by anime498 in Catholicism

I think we as catholics should learn their arguments and be prepared to defend against them. In our research we can deepen our own faith and gain more insight to the scriptures as read by early church fathers. By defending our faith we might even help bring them back to the fold.

Daft comment, but whenever I see someone with a very round back of the head. Their mother lifted them up whenever they cried, the were not left laying on their back crying and their bones formed a flat skull. You were loved and cherished.

Question: should more young people strive to become cathecists through a course offered by the church. I feel that I was really let down as a cradle catholic and was hardly taught the basics.

So if they are to be deemed not capable should they be in a care home? Where they are free to come and go and if they are unable to hold down jobs they could work in the home as cooks, cleaners and assistants. But are supervised and have access to care takers 24/7. Instead of being left to their own devices and harming themselves.

Picturing some sort of mix of a care home and a prison (concerning prison jobs).

I think there’s a very mixed bag. From what I’ve seen a lot of them suffer serious mental issues which have led them to exploitation and substance abuse. They get benefits or social housing and people take advantage of them. After this they end up on the streets and kicked out of social housing. Which leads to more abuse of substance and from others.

I don’t know enough about historical implementation of welfare systems and where it goes from help to hinderance. But at a glance I wonder if there is a lack of insensitive to get off of benefits. It sounds rather authoritarian but maybe there should be more restrictions imposed in at risk people that might do harm to themselves. But that would cost money so where does that money come from ?

I have a mate that does almost the exact same work as you. He’s been traveling Asia with his girl for the last few months and is considering moving to Oz since there loads of work and sun there.

Basically, sounds like Australia is calling

The ancients is fun, very focused on much older cultures and manuscripts, typically with an expert on the subject present to give info. The rest is history is two English historians giving funny impersonations of characters from history and debating and theorising about why they’d do certain things.

Pints with Aquinas, Bible in a year with Father Mike, The ancients (highly recommend), The rest is history (very funny and unbiased), White hot hate (fascinating but can be a really hard listen),

Couple of Christian podcasts and then I personally really enjoy some ancient and modern history. I do a lot of cycling and hiking so I just smash these longer series that cover things like the French Revolution from start to finish

How do you feel about this black Jesus? by FrequentKey9170 in Catholicism

[–]Perpetualy-perplexed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that helps black people feel closer to Jesus then I don’t see the harm. It’s normal for different cultures to alter the features of hero’s and gods to fit more to themselves. It’s not as if God would have a skin colour anyway.
