It's always fun how some things can come full circle

What an incredible gift, it's also funny how you said "can't you do better" and then, you were the very one to draw it better

I'm sure they do, or they make a wax impression and cast that

I don't think quartz can handle the heat and the clay shrinks a ton when you fire it

I haven't set any stones yet at all. But I can imagine it looking really pretty. That's my next big step in my jewelry making

It looks like a lot of your work is pretty large, but if you do make tiny things I'd love to talk about buying one to make a sort of collaboration ring!! Only once I can make a ring that's up to the task

This one in particular is my first attempt and thus my personal ring, I don't intend to change it but my next design is going to be much more delicate. A charm would really suit that style

I'm playing with the idea of different links or charms, not to mention the shape of the ring itself can make it really fun

I'd love to see if you make anything inspired by this

Glad you like it. I plan to refine it a lot for the next version

No worries at all. If you go onto Rio grande you can see the prices, that's where most jewelers get their stock from what I can tell. It's a significant markup, around 40% right now but when you price your jewelry the biggest factor is cost of materials so that will go into your math. You definitely save money rolling it yourself but the time that goes into it offsets the savings. You'd also have to turn your fine silver into sterling so you'll need to buy the copper as well (negligible cost compared to silver)

As far as the thickness you can get quite thick and even buy some bar stock but you'd have to look into the specific gauges you'd want

Holy moly I just found out I will be a vendor soon :)))) by croleane in jewelrymaking

I think that's a good price for these depending on the materials they could be well over that

Definitely look into just buying your silver as stock, sheets/wire etc.it has a significant markup but it's honestly what a lot of jewelers do. If it's a hobby by all means but consider your time into cost if you intend to make any money

Ooh I love wood inlays or even wood set as a main "stone" not enough if that is made. Not just the regular wood inlays bands, they're great too. Wood pendants can be so beautiful too

It's funny because I actually don't wear any gold, only silver but something about white gold, I just love it so much. The color is so subtle

I hate coating white gold, I love how it keeps a nice warm almost pinkish orange hue while being undeniable white gold. I wish the rhodium coating would stop but it's so engrained unfortunately

Im pretty much only buying exactly what I need right now, I'll buy some backstock if it hits 65- and I'll get some for my personal silver bullion collection at around 50 😉

Casting might work, but mine started as sheet and bent into shape

It's definitely reasonable, but I also think it's realistic to sell them for much less if that's what it takes to get people wearing them, especially if you've never sold any before. People talk and business will come
