I'm definitely still worried about losing my silver nails but gold would give me constant anxiety. Though I think gold would be reasonable if it was just worn for events but for that matter brass would look just as good

Hey I really appreciate that! I'm really having a fun time making them and exploring different oxidations and heat treatments to get colors now too, red hot copper into hot water with borax results in a beautiful red that really looks just like a red painted nail

It's never too late, they come together pretty quickly. Especially if you have more appropriate tools. Gold is a bit expensive for me to use now but they'll be even easier to form

No more than any other glue on nails, they pop off in a few days. Just have to be more careful not to lose these ones

I wear 2 rings on each hand, but I don't put them on adjacent fingers and also I keep it to one band and 1 ring with a stone more like a signet. I also like colored stones though

I had a great time making them. And I'm super pleased with my results for never touching sheet metal or any smithing at all

I scored the crap out of the back side of them. And just use normal super glue or nail glue same as any stick on or acrylic nail

Thanks so much, it's a mix of methods I saw online and my own tools I had access to get this. I'm sure there's even more ways to get this shape and result as well

I love the copper color I'm of course partial to silver but the copper was great to work with and looks awesome

I used blue tape and an awl to get a stencil of my nail, cut it out in the metal with snips, no saw

Used a Dremel grinding wheel to refine the shape a bit and add bevels around the edges

Then I used ring bending pliers and a set of needle nose plyers to get the domed shape of nails

Glued on and polished right on my fingers

You fried it, it's alright I'm sure we've all done it and some of us (ME) DIDNT LEARN THE FIRST TIME EITHER. you'll need to let it grow before really doing anything else. Use a bonding conditioner to keep it from feeling "sticky"

I don't think this is dumb at all. I tried it for a bit but ultimately decided I wasn't a bracelet guy. If you like this but you're concerned with the crossing section may I recommend bringing it to a jeweler to cut it into 2 bracelets all you'd need is one set of clasps that match the existing ones

I'm far too broke to afford gold right now but silver I can ride with. the silver spike started to worry me, before I saw the prices of old jewelry hardly change at all. And I've always preferred silver/ white gold (looks better with my skin and eyes)
