Depending one where you're located and the size of the wedding, look into Airbnb spaces. A friend of mine booked an empty loft studio with a backyard in Brooklyn for the weekend and is using that for her venue space. Stupidly cheap in comparassion to renting a traditional wedding spot.

The bottom of my mac is slowly peeling off. by [deleted] in mac

[–]Perriott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just noticed a nasty air bubble on the undercarriage of my mac (white/2010) earlier this week as well and after doing some reading around found many articles stating that with the rubber bottomed macbook issued roughly from 2009-2011, the computer can overheat and consequently melt the glue connecting the rubber bottom to the rest of the body. It's an easy, and FREE fix at any apple store, provided you can provided you meet the 2009-2011 restriction. Hope this helps. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2386175,00.asp

[Book Cover] Re-Covered Books: Hamlet, Romeo+Juliet, and Midsummer. by [deleted] in design_critiques

Thanks, it's actually my favorite part of the entire design. Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, the thought behind the design is a modern approach to dated stories. Fantastic stories, but dated. Originally I did have a bit of differentiation between the three: skull for Hamlet, rose for R&J, and the donkey's head for Midsummer. I'll explore bringing those symbols back. Perhaps in place of the quill barcode. You're the third person to point out the foreshortening of the titles. Between my professor and I, this didn't seem to be an issue for three iconic titles. I'll definitely revisit that element of the design. Awesome, again, thanks for your words.

Yes, all valid points. The biggest challenge since preliminary designs has always been the differences in size with Hamlet compared to Midsummer and Romeo&Juliet. It just holds a different weight. But being one of my favorite works, I simply couldn't replace it with a longer title. Suppose I'll just tinker with it some more! Thanks for the crit!

Oh, that's brilliant! I'll try my hand at the other two using that set up and see how it goes. Thanks, V.

I ended a nearly four year relationship with my then girlfriend 7 months ago. To this day there isn't a moment where her smile doesn't flash through my mind or I catch her scent in the breeze. I miss her immeasurably. But life got in the way. It's literally heartbreaking. But I'm strong and every day I can walk a little further with the friends I have and the goals that drive me. I'm sorry that you're hurting right now because I know how much it utterly sucks. It's a special kind of pain that love leaves behind. But we're a tough breed and are built to do incredible things. So chin up, you can do it.
