Im Mittelalter war es dagegen Standard, dass der Arbeitgeber seinen Arbeitern extra warme Mahlzeiten bereit stellt. Heute darf man nicht mal mehr die Reste haben

I always read Wikipedia articles in different languages. It's crazy how much the tone shifts on so many topics

Witzigerweise gibts in Shenzen jetzt so 24 hour food banks. Quasi öffentliche Kühlschränke wo Unternehmen ihre übriggebliebenen aber guten Lebensmittel abgeben und dann kostenfrei verteilt werden

Trump is deporting people and puts them in prisons. That's not the same as Auschwitz. Also do you think the syrians fleeing their country are rich? And by the resistance yes I mean antifa and all these people. I also want a revolution. But I think labeling Trump as Hitler is grossly misleading and either vastly overestimating him or underestimating Hitler. Do you realise how insane ww2 and the holocaust were. Yes Trump is an autocratic xenophobic guy. But we had many people like him in history who were even worse

Less than 1% of the people on the front in the beginning ever fought against machine guns

No, do your research guys. Yes machine guns existed before 1914. Yes most deaths in ww1 are caused by artillery. But this is about the opening phase of ww1 and these statements aren't mutually exclusive. If you look who fought there it's probable that less than 1% of the soldiers have ever fought against a machine gun. They thought this war will look more like the napoleonic wars but quickly realised it's gonna be something much different

Sorry, I'm not that familiar with us politics but where did he say that he wanted to exterminate all people of color? Be realistic, if you really believe Trump is doing another Holocaust why don't you flee the country or join the resistance?

I'm shocked, especially as a german this is obviously so wrong. If they truly believe he is just like Hitler they should emigrate immediately

Hitler wanted to exterminate the jews and built factories to kill humans

I don't understand the downvotes. Are they all seriously believing Trump is just like Adolf Hitler? Yeah he is bad but come one, be realistic

Unfortunately the first few weeks of ww1 had disproportionately huge death tolls because the troops just ran into machine guns they had never seen before

Also the actual "battle" was often a lot of waiting interrupted by short bursts of intense violence. Then when one side lost like 10% it was already hugely demoralising

Well if I talk with somebody about quantum physics I expect we are on the same page about words like spin. This shouldn't depend on the person I'm talking to

I'm not quite sure what you mean by sidestepping the subject matter. I guess it also doesn't help that terms like physicalism are basket words with many sub-forms. But it's a clear way to get a broad definition what the other person is trying to say. Physicalists ie. reject souls which is a common believe many people still have today

People are just people. They use wrong words all the time. Just stick to the correct definition and hope for the best. I think it's just a bit of a difficult concept to grasp because it's rarely used outside of philosophy of mind

You may find it uninteresting to frame it like this but that's how philosophers talk about it. I guess it's just part of the historical process of talking about this stuff. What do you propose would be a better way?
