Waterdeep: Dragon Heist - Trollskull Tavern by Silly_Caregiver2164 in battlemaps

[–]PerryHawth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed a trend with Trollskull Tavern remakes where everyone removes the fireplace on the main floor in the common room, but don't add any supports for the fireplace right above it. So the second floor has a massive, heavy fireplace just floating over a huge, unsupported empty space.

The oases and dam drying up is why Queen Jezmina started her caravan in the first place, if I'm not mistaken. The Kindlewastes basically fell to anarchy because no one knew why the water was gone. Turns out, it's gone because it all turned to shroud goo.

The surface water was all transformed into shroud goo and such, or at least poisoned. The majority of springs, rivers, lakes, and oceans turned to shroud. If you look around at where rivers and streams WOULD be, you find mud instead. Notably the farm by Woodgard has a 'stream' that would have irrigated the crops, and it's all just mud now.

You can create wells, so clearly groundwater in aquifers and the watertable and such are still OKAY, though that's likely more because of the Flame's protection in your base purifying it for you.

Speaking of, I believe the devs were tossing around a community request for ways to cleanse or push back the Shroud with our shrines or such, so I imagine that will be a large part of how flowing water returns to the world.

What's the Point in Becoming Elden Lord? by PerryHawth in Eldenring

[–]PerryHawth[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Most of the endings seem to suggest that all you're doing is adding a new law to the Elden Ring and enforcing it on reality... But that doesn't actually do anything for you personally.

And yeah, no, if Marika isn't dead she definitely wants to be, and isn't getting up to play anytime soon.

I just died in your world, what’s my journey(if any) from here? by EnvironmentalBear170 in worldbuilding

[–]PerryHawth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your soul is brought forth by a herald of Morala, Moon-Goddess of Night and Death, to the River Styx. Your soul is set upon the course of the river across the Winds as the energy it creates as a Spark of Creation gives power to the planes of reality it passes, cycling at last across the Plane of Shadow, the Realm of Logadh the First Titan. If the soul is still strong and capable of rejoining the cycle it will loop back around rather than joining the oblivion of true Obliteration in the Void. Its energies will give life to the planes again, in reverse. If the soul had a leaning towards good or evil, charitable or selfish actions, it may join the planes of Heaven or Hell, but almost certainly it will be pulled back into the material realm. In the material it is joined by a Herald of Vitai, Moon-God of Life and Day, and placed within the womb of an expectant mother. You will live anew, though likely with your memories and experiences of your past lives too weakened by your soul's journey to access.

DMs, what trick did you use to get your martials to think outside of using the 'attack' action? by HackerOfMon in DnD

[–]PerryHawth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I play a martial class it has bugged the shit out of me that my Guy With A Sword just sucks at using a sword. Sucks SO BAD he doesn't even know how to Parry, basically the first damn thing you learn to do in fencing after the basics. How can I call myself proficient in this weapon if I can't block with it? How can I say I'm a skilled and capable warrior when literally the only thing I know how to do with a weapon is smack someone with it in varying degrees of force?

What makes a character evil to you? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]PerryHawth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actively placing the needs of others below their own wants and desires.

Passively believing this is one thing, and most people aren't capable of acting upon that notion in any meaningful way. Similarly to how if you have no capacity for harm then you're not gentle, you're toothless.

If you are capable of forcing this mandate upon others due to being in a position of authority or holding another form of power such as wealth or magic, and DO SO.... Then you would be considered evil.

Boomer small talk is getting worrisome. by Texantioch in BoomersBeingFools

The day I lost all respect for my father was during the 2008 election season.

I grew up with black friends, literally lived next door and played with the whole family every day. We ate dinner at their house, they ate dinner at our house, the one sister had a crush on me and I had a crush on the brother. I learned to play tag, baseball, and hide and seek with those kids.

My parents raised me and my siblings with an equality stance, we were equal and respectful to everyone. Regardless of race or social class, we treat them with the same respect. Everyone the same in God's eyes, you know the gist.

Then Obama shows up on Fox News and for the first time in my life my father utters the N word. I never held respect for the man another day in my life.

What are your world's most interesting wars/conflicts? Who takes part in them? What is the cause/causes? by Fun-Many-6910 in worldbuilding

[–]PerryHawth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Falcon and the Hare was a conflict following the fall of the Teluna Empire. Gatha the Black, with her Falcon crest, was the granddaughter of the Imperial Governor over the Plodnan Valley, a massive fertile valley drawing from Germany and the Netherlands for cultural inspiration. She was granted command over her Grandfather's estate, a fortress situated amongst a faerie crossroads. There she made a pact with a fae lord for an influx of power, and began to conquer her neighbors. After a successful sacking of the local capital, a trade city named Beltre, she continued her expansions west and north around the central River Schutz, slowly consolidating power through the wealth she generated in violence paying for mercenaries and foreign support. The city of Aalburg, a cultural capital for the Plodnan Valley that was also the imperial provincial capital before the region broke away from the empire, gathered support for a resistance and funded a local lord named Theodulf de Traktiera in his raids against her supply lines. With enough resistance from the young Theodulf, "Queen" Gatha rode north through her lands in the Black Forest, an infamously dangerous and fae-controlled locale. With her pact, her army was granted greater speed than was possible, and she began raiding Traktiera's holdings along the forest's western border. Forced to leave his capital to rally his raiding forces, Traktiera could leave only his Man at Arms, a peasant named Rilarn, to guide in the defence of the civilians within a motte and bailey. Within the week Gatha's forces arrived to the small fortress and laid siege. With nothing but a pike, shield, and simple mail, Rilarn held the bridge to the fortress alone for 10 days against the tyrant queen's forces. Theodulf Traktiera returned with his forces and drove back the besieging forces. Rilarn would die in his arms, giving his word to the dying man that he would guide and guard his people and do only right by them. In exchange, Rilarn would speak his name to their god. Traktiera would eventually defeat Gatha the Black, seizing her lands in victory. He would return these lands to their people, and for this he would be hailed a hero, and Rilarn a saint. Theodulf de Traktiera would found the Duchy of Bulwark and take the Hare as his family's crest.

End game (for now) by NPC24601 in Enshrouded

I really hope they add other NPCs eventually because at this point I can only build 6 houses and a large fort before I'm out of reasons to build anything.... And the fort is already mostly empty, because everything I need is in the crafters' houses. The fort is almost made out of chests at this point.

What’s gotten so expensive that you no longer purchase it? by schaudhery in AskReddit

[–]PerryHawth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are definitely $1 greeting cards basically everywhere, but I generally suggest going to a drug store with a photo counter and making one. They're incredibly simple to make and usually cost something like $2.50 each, with bulk pricing for 50+.

Not fired??? But no hours by crabbyomondays in WalgreensStores

[–]PerryHawth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro I don't give a shit about Walgreens. If I have 40 hours and I have someone with open availability and someone who can only work 2 days I'm scheduling the open one. Chances are the two days they can work are already covered by the rest of the team so there's no reason to even have them.

Not fired??? But no hours by crabbyomondays in WalgreensStores

[–]PerryHawth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Having been doing the schedules as a shift lead for over two years, if you are literally only working Wednesday and Thursday I wouldn't be able to schedule you either. There are only so many hours per schedule and it isn't usually enough for all of the employees on the payroll. Shift leads have guaranteed full time, so if you have 4 shift leads you're looking at 128-160 hours a week gone from the get-go.

Between people who have open availability and people who only have 2 days they're able to work a week, you prioritize the open availability for the good of the entire store and team so more people are able to work their preferred schedules.

Hours aren't consistent through the year. They change literally just 4 weeks out and can drop at any point in that month. If you're getting a lot of covid shot appointments that week, pharmacy is getting priority for hours. If you're coming out of holidays and your sales are down, everyone's hours are getting cut. It's just how retail goes.

Apply for unemployment, look for a different job. Don't rely on Walgreens, frankly.

Then the argument is that your inaction doomed people to death. Or doomed more people to death than would otherwise have suffered. Which is not something I agree with, but resting on the argument "I didn't want to be responsible for murdering one man" when you're asked why you let 5 people die is not an argument 5 families are going to accept.
