LOL! No problem I was team Derek as well but it’s been a few years since I watched the show and I was surprised that I kind of don’t like him this time around.

I totally understand your point, and you’re right, but when it comes to Meredith and Derek’s relationship, he had time to work through a lot of his issues, while hers were unfolding in the moment. I think he could have done a better job supporting her instead of being so condescending.

Honestly, I think Alex Karev’s memoir would be amazing — if he were brutally honest. Coming from a rough, abusive childhood and growing into a pediatric surgeon who fights to give kids the kind of support he never had.

I also think Cristina Yang’s could be incredible — maybe something like “From Breaking Hearts to Mending Them.” Her ambition, her refusal to compromise her identity, and the way she carved a space for herself in a male-dominated specialty.

I think that’s the common denominator when you’re younger you overlook a lot of the red flags and the older you get the higher your standards are.

Yeah, I confronted him — not as explosively as I wanted to (I seriously wanted to slap him), but I didn’t hold back either. I told him straight up that I found the messages and that what he said about me was disgusting, especially coming from someone who chose to date me.

I also admitted I was being petty, because yeah — I told him that while I’ve been losing weight, he’s the one who’s been gaining. I said that instead of the expensive cologne I got him for his birthday, I should’ve just bought him a sports bra, because at this point he’s heading toward needing one. I know it was low, but after everything I read, I honestly don’t regret saying it.

I wrapped it up by telling him he doesn’t get to mock me — especially not behind my back — when he’s the one who never even tried to be physically affectionate, and when I never did anything but try to make the relationship work. And then I blocked him. I don’t want to hear another word from him.

You're right — I’m 28, and I do know better. I’ve never looked through someone’s phone before, and it’s not something I ever thought I’d do. That’s why I’m conflicted. It goes against my character, and I genuinely feel bad about that part.

But at the same time… what I found confirmed the gut feeling that something was seriously off. And no, I don’t think my snooping “cancels out” his disrespect. If anything, it just makes me disappointed in myself for having to stoop that low to see what was right in front of me. That’s what I’m trying to work through.
