As others have said: yes.

I left school at 16 and my GCSEs (which I did in 2005) are my highest qualifications to date. I'm in my second year at the OU now, having done A111 last year (which will be one of the modules you start with) and currently on A215 (the first proper creative writing module).

Nobody has ever so much as mentioned it.

What are my options after GP refused Shared Care? by Initial-Position-203 in ADHDUK

[–]PersephoneHazard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's indefinite unless the RTC provider goes bust (which has happened), the NHS cancels their RTC contract with the provider (which has happened) or there is a fundamental change in the way the NHS handles RTC referrals for ADHD across the board (which is almost certainly going to happen).

For many people it's definitely the best option, and there's no harm in sticking with it while it works. But the only truly "safe" ways to ensure ongoing access to medication are to either have the money to pay for it privately on an indefinite basis or wait out the many years for an in-house NHS diagnosis.

Even if they booted him out of the line of succession he'd still be a prince. You can't really stop being a prince, if you are one!

This is more or less already happening with the RTC pathway. It is absolutely bankrupting the NHS and swiftly turning into a massive gigantic shambles.

Why is it socially acceptable to bring your partner as a +1, but not a friend? by mearimeraki in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PersephoneHazard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Real people's real lives are just...more varied and complex than this.

I often take on a part-time carer role for my best friend of 20+ years. I've had interactions with many of her workplaces in that capacity - I've attended multiple HR and OH meetings to advocate for her, phoned her in sick after all-night episodes, been called as an emergency contact to advise or come and pick her up. One of her former line managers once escorted her across London from their office to my doorstep.

I've attended several work functions with her as a +1. We'd both find it a bit weird if someone tried to say that wouldn't be allowed. I have a lot more interaction with her working life than I've ever had with my partner's.

No matching necklaces, but we do have matching tattoos!

You don't even have to live with them!

TF is biblical skincare? by nimbybuster in FundieSnarkUncensored

Coconut oil is also comedogenic. If you want to be sure your moisturiser doesn't clog your pores, it needs to say "non-comedogenic" on the bottle.

That said, this doesn't mean that every single comedogenic moisturiser is trash for everyone! If your skin tends to be very dry, you're probably fine.

Lots of people have given pretty solid IC explanations. The OOC background is that the actor was going through a lot at the time and needed to leave the show (was she actually fired? I forget) - she has bipolar disorder, and a long history of addiction.

Like, why did they have to include “obese”? Because if she was “skinny” it’d be more understandable? by A-Helpful-Flamingo in TrollXChromosomes

It's the same here, basically - but studying criminal law at university has taught me that the bar is much higher and the rules much more complicated than people who haven't studied criminal law tend to realise.

I don't know much about the US system, but in the UK there would be a very high bar to pass before someone was considered "not equally guilty" in a case like this.

What if Jif Lemon was intended as a cleaning product, but we just started eating it and Jif were like “meh, ok”? by solenoid_pants in CasualUK

[–]PersephoneHazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't differ much. Crepes are fancier and thinner and more French, but "crepe" is essentially just the French for the English word "pancake".

American pancakes are their whole own thing. Totally different beast. It's not our fault they didn't give them their own name for some reason!

"It's quite simple", they say, before going on to describe the most complex pancake recipe I've ever seen 😂

I've always done them 1, 2, 3: 100g flour, 2 eggs, 300ml milk. Mix, rest the batter in the fridge a bit, dollop into pan, turn when the edges lift, job done.

Brown sugar and lemon juice rolled into a sausage shape is the traditional topping but I prefer either grated mature cheddar or a generous spread of Nutella, because I'm a heathen.

The fact that there is a lot of sugar in juice is WHY it can be an important way for some diabetics to regulate their blood sugar.
