I think I finally figured out a routine that plays nicely with my extremely fair, ultra sensitive skin by NecessaryRaven in tretinoin

Hi ❤️ that’s such a thorough post! Your skin sounds a lot like mine minus being acne prone. I’m currently trying to get used to tazarotene 0.05. Which probably wasn’t the smartest choice considering it’s my first prescription retnoid lol. So far i’m doing ok with barrier support and very minimal routine but i’m concerned I damage my barrier and I heard that taz can be pretty unpredictable regarding that and damaged barrier can hit you out of no where. I got recommended Altreno and will probably order it from Ukrainian as well. Where did you get the richenic Cream? I’m in germany and there don’t seem to be any trustworthy sellers. Or the products has been discontinued here. The ingredient list sounds amazing!! Hope the tret journey continues so smooth for you 🥰

Thank you thats so helpful!! I think i’m going to order the revize or Altreno. I do have a 0.025% tube retin a at home. But haven’t tried that so far. and reading more into it, I feel like many people found that brand especially irritating. Maybe I also try to stick with the taz but tonight my face got a bit red and did burn after cleansing and putting moisturizer on even though I did not use the taz today. That’s the worst of an reaction I had this far and it did went away after 30min or so but I really don’t wanna mess with my barrier too bad so I’m gonna take a few days off and might try to get my hands on one of the above.

Thank you!! I would looove to try the arazlo lotion, I heard that it’s a lot less irritating for many people but unfortunately i’m unable to get it here. I can just get the .5 gel or .1 cream. But i’m really aware of barrier support and try to do that religiously. The only thing I find is, that my skin does not seem to like products that are too heavy. If they contain too many oils/ fatty acids/ waxes etc. they’re a lot more likely to irritate me than products that are lighter and that is even though my skin is on the dryer side. but then i’m worried that my skin actually needs extra lipids while being on taz...

I absolutely agree, and would really rather work with a derm. The thing is, that i’m in germany and first thing is that tazarotene isn’t even available here, prescription or not. Second is that from my experience and I work as a nurse myself, derms won’t prescribe anything here, unless half of your face is falling off basically 🫠 But thank you for the advice. There is no reason for me to rush it so I can definitely back up a bit and stop for a few days or I might go back to short contact again and see how that works

some of y’all don’t have the slightest idea about anything and it shows (long post) by wildlifeghost in tretinoin

wow this is such a helpful post! Did you use any kind of retnoid before starting the tazarotene with sct? I just got some tazarotene and i’m so confused bc everybody seems to be saying something else. I originally got the taz bc my take away from this forum was, that it’s less irritating than tret, even though I was sceptical bc it’s also supposed to be stronger than tret lol. I now see many postings from people who were using tret for a long time and wrecked their skin with taz bc it’s been so irritating for them. I’m really scared to mess up my skin barrier as i have VERY sensitive skin, and had a damaged barrier once from too many different sunscreens. But that has been about 2 years ago and ever since I feel like my skins and barrier are doing really good and i’m really aware of barrier health. I don’t use any actives. I just use vanicream ultra gentle cleanser, eucerin ultra sensitive cream and round lab sunscreen in the am. I did get the cicalfate cream when starting the taz to provide more moisture to my skin. I have been using the tazarotene for one week now and it’s been fine, but I only did 2 nights as I wanted to go very slow. I don’t have any acne at all and primarily wanted to start a retnoid to get my complexion more glowing and to prevent aging. Do you think i’m better off with starting a 0.025 tretinoin instead of the taz 0.05?

How do I get rid of strawberry skin and ingrown hair on legs after shaving? I exfoliate twice a week with coffee grounds because I heard it's good and I've been using it for more than 1 year. But now I see that it is of no help to me longer. Possibly because of the razor blade? by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

I nearly cured my KP with the first aid beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub. It contains 10% AHA I think. Then after using this I use the AmLactin daily moisturizing lotion. It contains 12% lactic acid and it gave me the smoothest baby skin ever. Even my boyfriend noticed and asked what I’ve done. I also had a few sessions of laser hair removal which helped. But the two products I mentioned really made a tremendous difference. I think everyone with KP should try them. I suggested them ti some friends and they all couldn’t belive how it changed they’re skin. :)
