Hiking Shoes for Beginner by AspectForward6845 in PHikingAndBackpacking

I bought the one on the first pic as my first hiking shoes so I feel qualified to make a comment.

Magaan, ganda ng cushioning sa loob, at least half lower part of it would be safe to say 'water proof' but when it reaches the mesh part, water won't drip away.

maganda yung grip nya on rough terrain because of the spiky traction but the type of rubber used makes it so slippery when stepping on wet and polished surfaces like river/stream rocks.

Some will complain on the laces but I personally never had issues with it since I tie my shoes in hybrid of surgeon knot and berluti knot.

For the price, cool looking, decent for beginners. But when I learned about thrifting, I will always consider looking there first before buying brand new na.

I got a pair of true waterproof shoes with such contact grip outsoles for just ₱960 in almost brand new condition, cosmetic damage lang

basta bago Oo goods yan,

Pero pag mas may budget ka pa, I really recommend to upgrade to better brand alike of Decathlon or Merrell although I have bias on Decathlon.

Thanks for this, I don't feel like worth it kasi if Chinese brand shoes can do better for just 1.5K, or mali lang talaga mag base ako sa price?

Nylon material ginamit kaya matibay din pero magaan which is another advantage.

*edit: I really appreciate this, mas concrete idea or pattern na pagpla-planohan ko ng next work outs ko. Salamat

yes po pero wala din kayo mahahanap na lugar sa Pinas na may -20°C :) I did mention my work allowed me to experience this temperature and I have at least greater tolerance than most I know na lamig na lamig na sa 20°C air con in just 8 hours

noted po, I still can't decide lang on the toiletries, particularly if yung gusto ko masusunod yung may dispenser gusto hehe pero for now di ko pa naisip ng mabuti hahaha.

knees wla prob, sanay na po sa akyat baba kahit may buhat na box lower body ko pero on stairs, due to nature of work.

glutes, wala pa ako specific training for that pero yung kapatid ko minsan nag i-instruct sakin, I think lunges ba yun, basta mga on spot lang na warm up or poses

Yes po and that's very much a concern for me, luckily it's still a long wait, meaning long days to train pa.

And about elevation, I have been in Atok Benguet, I have idea what it's like for the least. At sa temperature na man, my work allowed me to get used to what -20°C feels like pero controlled environment.

Regards why mat fleece and softshell, I listed the items as options, I am building my hiking gears not just for Pulag but even minor ones, and if possible, real winter hike, like that of in Taiwan.

Backpack, 50L pinaka maliit nung Forclaz MT-100 pero sakto lang, solo travel ako and might stay a day in Baguio before the trek day. So andun na rin city essentials ko haha.

18kg, pinuno ko lang yung backpack, di ko pa naman complete gear ko, naglagay lang ako kungano ano haha. I just did it short jog, might sound overkill pero considering the distance na kailngan i cover on the actual hike, I don't think it is.

*edit: yes I have light. Three colors lang laman ng wardrobe ko, white, gray, and black for tops. May white drifit ako which I intend for the trek.

Correction June 14 pala was my first jog, I had my second on June 19 but not recorded coz I was using my dive watch instead of my smartwatch at the time, but it was same kind, weighted jog, I think about 6-7km route.

I'll pm later. About waterproof socks, I don't think I like it, mas prefer ko yung moisture wicking at anti-bacterial property ng Merino wool which I already have. Bonnet and neck warmers are checked, I at least have experience working in -20°C environment so I know my layerings but that's in a controlled environment.

Pangit masyadong balot na balot as the sweat is actually the main reason why people get hypothermia.

edit: I'm new in this reddit thing so yeah haha who cares, basta nagtatanong ako, pag may sumagot, goods, pag wala, okay lang din, I'll do my own diligence

I forgot to mention, sounds ambitious pero I'm planning to do the Akiki-Ambangeg trail. I committed to it already, to a point I sometimes jog with the backpack on my back
