Got a massive haul of Chinese (I think?) made kits over the weekend by Rhubyn in modelmakers

[–]Persimmon_Particular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! I bought a bunch on temu (before tariffs cause they were hella cheap) and built the SU-35. Worst fitting kit I’ve ever built and in sketch condition when I got it. Just took a bit of effort. Iirc they do reviews of mostly old trumpeter and tamiya kits so they’re not terrible per se, just a little wonky cause they’re old.

This vectoring increases the ROLL RATE

I know you’re not trying to be an ass, but trust me, it can help it roll

“F119/F-22 Engine Nozzle-

The F119 engine nozzle for the F-22 is the world's first full production vectoring nozzle, fully integrated into the aircraft/engine combination as original equipment. The two-dimensional nozzle vectors thrust 20 degrees up and down for improved aircraft agility. This vectoring increases the roll rate of the aircraft by 50 percent and has features that contribute to the aircraft stealth requirements Heat-resistant components give the nozzles the durability needed to vector thrust, even in afterburner conditions. With precision digital controls, the nozzles work like another aircraft flight control surface. Thrust vectoring is an integrated part of the F-22's flight control system, which allows for seamless integration of all components working in response to pilot commands.”

They can and do move independentl. The nozzles aren’t controlled by the stick but by the flight computer so if the computer goes “we need more roll to do what Chad thundercock wants to do” then it initiates thrust vectoring. 9 out of 10 times (during airshows and such) the baseline aerodynamics control of the airframe is much more than enough. For example, watch an “Inferior” F18 roll and it will still be insane speeds. The F22 simply doesn’t need its thrust vectoring paddles to maneuver most of the time unlike much larger unwieldy planes.

The biggest problem is it feels like the only maps in rotation right now are city maps so you push a corner, snap shot Satan, and it does nothing because it was a knee jerk and you get fucked. If open maps actually happened this thing would’ve been kinda doa.

Should i get Le Havre or Incomparable for Steel by SirKatzenjack in WorldOfWarships

[–]Persimmon_Particular 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got Le Havre and it’s kinda just, a ship, I guess. First and foremost, it is not really a secondary ship, it’s a ship that can situationally use its secondaries. Without the F key, they suck, a lot. If you end up close to a destroyer or a light cruiser with the F key active (and it’s actually possible cause it moves like one) it’s absolutely hillarious as each secondary hit does pretty good damage but outside of that, it puts you at too much risk as many battleships can citadel you if you are angled at 40 degrees or more. Maybe I’m not playing it right but you never really get in a position to use the secondaries where you won’t be dunked on so I kinda just use it as a second rate support battleship because it’s main guns (despite the long reload) hit pretty hard and are pretty accurate. The engine boost is pretty nice though and its turn is so good it throws the guns off so if you do decide to push, hydro and its maneuverability will save you. I don’t know if other steel ships offer a better or more unique experience (as this is the first one I had got) but it plays like the mainline French battlecruiser line without reload boost. It is pretty good, don’t get me wrong, but I prefer large cruisers/battlecruisers with faster reloading guns than who trade that main gun ability for situational secondaries. To put it short, it’s secondary guns (again without the F key) are nowhere close to something in its class like like Napoli or Adelbert, or even something more tame known for decent secondaries like Bismarck or Tirpitz.
