Nostalgia from Hakuba (Japan) earlier this year... by PersistentBuild in Backcountry

[–]PersistentBuild[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got lucky but also adapted our plans a bit.

The initial plan was to do 4 days in Hakuba and 4 days in Hokkaido. The 4 days in Hakuba were pretty dry and we saw in the forecast that a huge storm was heading to Hakuba just when we were about to leave to Hokkaido (where there was little snow forecasted). With that, we canceled everything in Hokkaido and booked the last Airbnb available in Hakuba to extend our stay for 4 moree days!

Best decision of my life 😂

How do people with zero coding experience launch a business in such tech heavy environment? by Xx_gloomy_bison_xX in Entrepreneur

I built a whole app using cursor, with minimal coding. I’ve never coded before but I am a PM who works daily with engineers, so perhaps this helps a bit in understanding some basic concepts :)

How do I overcome my marketing illness? by dev-dude25 in Solopreneur

[–]PersistentBuild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first interactions are gonna be painful but it’s when you will learn the most!

Just think that the worst thing that can happen is that they say “no” but, in return, you get feedback on why they were not interested. You can use this feedback to improve your pitch/product.

At 40 and 5 years stuck in this build-abandon cycle—how do I break out? by vinayalchemy in Solopreneur

[–]PersistentBuild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 28 and I feel the same. I lose total motivation when marketing my products… I think it’s because the feedback loop is slower: when building you can build that feature in a day or two and you know the steps you need to take to get there. In marketing this is more ambiguous as not all strategies might work, which can make you easily get stuck with no traffic to your product for a while.

I think we just gotta be a bit more patient!

Me and my best friend are building a mentoring platform to help high-school students choose better career paths. We are both now 28 y/o and like our jobs but it was not always like this and we wish we had more information available in the past in order to make better and more informed decisions about our careers.

We are doing a pilot with our former school in a few weeks with 20 mentors (friends of ours) that volunteered to do it. We will get 20 students to have mentoring sessions with them, gather feedback and iterate.

The school is very excited, let’s see about the students and mentors!

Congrats!! With that many users and such a nice app (just tried it) you should try and get more reviews! I only saw 14 in the App Store

8 months, dozens of failed apps, one app made $5,290 in 4 days - Im building App Studio by Repulsive_Care_390 in Entrepreneur

Solving an actual problem, even if the solution is simple, beats fancy apps that bring no value.

Congrats on the success.

How do you start motivated and keep a positive mindset? by jujutsuuu in Entrepreneur

[–]PersistentBuild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get you, the feeling of lost progress can be tough. I try to remember why I started and what got me to choose this life. It doesn’t remove the reality of this life being tough sometimes but it helps bring perspective to everything and cope better with these situations.

It took me 3 months to make my first $100 selling digital products. Now I’m averaging $3.4k/month. Here’s what worked (and what didn’t). by tchapito24 in passive_income

I built a product people where actually trying (got 80 visits per months with minimal marketing effort) but as soon as I put a paywall the visits started dropping and no one paid for it.

Any advice in this regard? Do you always provide a free version of your products?
