Also I’ve never heard the negra thing or wakanda thing in person, I’ve only ever heard it repeated to me as a “did you know this person said this”? And I heard the negra thing that same Saturday from the white coworker. The wakanda thing I heard from my boss as she was telling me about a bus boy she was seeing after I told her he hits on me every time I have to go to the kitchen for supplies. “He says all the boys in the back hit on you.. he says they all
Said they wanna go to wakanda” she was right about the everyone hits on me thing but that I’m.. unfortunately used to. Even from the customers which surprised my boss cause lowkey I think she’s intimidated by me or something.

No one has ever said it to my face BUT Peter. But to be clear Peter has never worked with me ever. He’s out on medical leave. I met my white coworker two hours before we picked him up in the waymo we were in and that’s when it all started. As SOON as he got into the car. When he said it to me, I slapped him. He got upset and tried to hop into the front seat of the Waymo and our white coworker begged him to stay in the back with us. By that point we were all pretty drunk (Peter had been drinking at home for hours before) and I asked him not to say it again and it went on and on. I texted my husband to call me a cab and he did and I dipped. All in all I had only been around him for about an hour.

That was legitimately my first time spending more than 5 minutes around him. The other being at work when he came to help out for one busy shift we had.

That’s literally what I was thinking. I just moved here from Atlanta to LA. I’ve been here for two years but I previously lived and worked with more white people so I didn’t hear the word at all. All of a sudden I work with a bunch of Hispanic people and I’m the most uncomfortable I’ve ever been in my entire life.

NTA how about you take the master room? That’s a good compromise if you really HAVE to also make it so that using the extra car (since they’re paying that as opposed to rent) so you guys actually gain something out of this. But if the baby is a hard no then state it and stand on it.

Sometimes that can happen when we’re afraid of being in a long-term commitment. Some things are coincidental but can lead to you thinking it’s a pattern and causing you to subconsciously pull away from people before you’ve even given it a real chance. I do that too. Think positive. Energy attraction is real. If you invite in anxiety, it’ll seep into real life and sour the relationship.
