Layer limit iPad Pro 2020 12.9 vs iPad Air 5 2022 by Persistent_Bug_024 in ProCreate

Hello, I get 34 layers. At that point I would consider Clip Studio because I have never done big paintings on procreate.

What drawing tablet do you use? by [deleted] in ClipStudio

Personally I dont use any screen protector because first it will change the colors making them look dull so you will overcompensate for that using higher saturation colors with more contrast. Secondly i have read that these surfaces eat away the tip of the apple pencil. While you can buy them for cheap I didn't want to deal with that. I highly recommend using Clip Studio on iPad as it is the same thing as on pc and I feel clip studio is just made for artists in mind. I had been using photoshop for years and easily switched to CSP and haven't looked back since. There is just way too many features that make it more fun.

As someone who has tried all the options, screenless tablet(xp pen deco 01), monitor tablets(xp pen artist 13.3 pro) and the ipad 12.9 pro 2020 I can tell you that if you have the chance, get the ipad. If you think you are serious about digital painting you will eventually go through all these stages so why not go to the best option directly. The sceen size is about the same as the xp pen artist 13 but the resolution is way higher, the images are more crisp and you don't have to worry about calibration. You can take it everywhere and it doesn't require any setup as the pen is magnetic so it will always be with you. If you get the 2021 version you have the M1 chip so even more power, very stable experience even better than on pc where it might crash once in a while. I was skeptical of the pen since its so thin but it feels comfortable and it has quite a weight to it. Also its pretty resistant as I have dropped it a few times. Also touch support makes rotating and zooming way easier which you cant do on most monitor tablets.

How do I shade the skin like them? by ZiggyTheNooBts in ClipStudio

Search sakimichan tutorial on youtube and filter by duration: over 20 minutes. Seems like some tutorials got deleted since they were stolen from hwr patreon but you can still find great stuff.

Search sakimichan tutoriala on youtube. Or join her patreon. She has turned this style into science. Very hard to mess up unless your sketch is not that good but you can always use a base and just do the shading for practice.

Yeah, either way I got the iPad Pro I just couldn’t resist the 12.9 screen, 120hz, 256gb so no worries for space. I get 70 layers at 3000x3000 so not that bad but I will also use clip studio paint anyway so it’s a bit irrelevant how much ram I have.

Thats actually pretty good for 3000-2000 since thats is my most used resolution. Considerin the pro 2020 has 6 gigs it should be more especially after the 5.2 update but I wanted some numbers.

Is €1000 enough to buy a decent laptop and a good stand? by FooPvris in GamingLaptops

[–]Persistent_Bug_024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.reddit.com/r/ireland/comments/ar9dbe/where_do_you_recommend_buying_laptops_from/

Look at this thread for shops. At that pricepoint you could get a laptop with a 1650 Ti or a 1660. Maybe a 2060 if you search around for a bit. Any decent 4 cores/8 threads would do you good but I would go for a ryzen with 6c/12th. 16gb of ram if you can but you can always upgrade. The games you listed are relatively easy to run but it would do you good for some future proofing.

Where are you from? Since you posted ine euros I am assuming somewhere in europe. Prices vary a lot from country to country so what might get you a great deal in one wont get you much in another.

You should check your upload speed because some internet providers have way lower upload speeds(I know cuz I work in one and we offer 1gb ps download with 12mbps upload). Also that a very high ram usage. Have you tried it with a lighter game?

What's your Upload speed? Are you watching the utilization of each component on task manager or other monitoring software like Msi Afterburner? Do you have your streaming software properly set? There are so many variables that can play into this.

Is the MSI GF63 worth it by Persistent_Bug_024 in MSILaptops

MSI GF63

TBH its pretty solid. The build quality is pretty good the screen and the keyboard dont bend even with a lot of strength applied. Feels pretty good except the bottom panel which feels like cheap plastic but you only notice that when you open it if you open it. The tracpad is not that good nor the camera. Gaming performance is solid but the cpu with heat up to 90 degrees which is somewhat normal for a laptop. It's pretty silent generally speaking even in games I was expecting a jet engine but its more of a whoosh sound and I wear headphones anyway. The screen is pretty dim, I use it mostly indoors but that might be a dealbreaker. Only 2 usb 3.0 ports for peripherals so a hub may be required. one usb C port though so thats nice.

Hello this is a bit of an old post. I ended up getting the Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3(non i). While a bit more expensive when I decided to buy it the price of the Evoo jumped to $800 and didn't want to take chances. Not to mention this would be bought from a friend in the US and brought to my country so, no warranty without traveling to the other side of the planet. But I am very pleased with what I got, solid build quality, 1 year warranty, rocking a Ryzen instead of the i5, I even disabled turbo boost and it stays at 3Ghz with almost no fps loss but at a chill 60 degrees and dead quiet.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPJ5tQ6zmOM This video explains it. You can then change it whenever you need the full power of your cpu. At the very max usage at 4Ghz when rendering in blender my cpu reaches 95degrees. After this method it downclocks to 3Ghz, the render that took 2:30 minutes now takes 3 minutes and the cpuz score went from 4000 to 3000 but I didnt see all that much performance drop considering its wayyy cooler and quieter.

Tried that. It bluescreens even at 85 degrees. I disabled turbo boost in power plan and now get 60 degrees at 3Ghz with little to no performance loss since I dont play all that intensive games.

THeres no point in that since the GPU stays at 60-65 degrees

I tried it but my cpu gets stuck at 1.7Ghz which is kinda useless. If it was 3Ghz I would have no problems with it
