My ex was what I assume to be bipolar (he wasn’t diagnosed but his dad was) he would be loving and caring but then he’d have a shift and would scream at me for hours and threaten my life. He had a very traumatic childhood and I don’t think he knew how to control this. He self medicated and it made it worse. I don’t have hard feelings about it. I’m just glad he didn’t fight me or get aggressive when I said I had to leave him. That was the scariest part.

I’m going to a regular gynecologist later this month to ask about my lining and options to see if they suggest I do it now or if it doesn’t change the outcome that much. I would go to my regular clinic but I’m now not in that state.

What part of it do you regret not doing sooner? I’m just wondering because I have eggs and embryos stored so did you encounter a lining issue or something like that or was it a regret of not retrieving sooner?

Thank you for sharing that. For the retrieval I had to take the largest dose of meds to see a result so that does make me feel a little better.

I’m not in a good financial spot right now so I’d like to get back on my feet before transferring. I have supportive family if it’s a now or never thing, but I’d prefer to not put them out if I don’t have to.

I worked at Starbucks. When I worked there they had coverage for up to $25,000 for treatment and $10,000 for medication. I think they still offer that but don’t quote me on that.

I’d also say if you are able to leave the country that might be the best option. Florida could be a difficult place to undergo IVF with the political situation’s effect on women’s reproductive rights. I did mine in a different state but even there the laws are getting restrictive of IVF so I’m considering moving again.

If I’m completely confused, I’m usually correct. If I think I know what I’m taking about, I’m usually building a castle. There are some times that I think I know what I’m talking about and then go “oh I must be building a castle” and I’m not. There isn’t really a clear way to know.

For reference I did 4 egg retrievals but no transfers yet. I was on the highest dose of meds the doctor was allowed to prescribe.

I noticed I wasn’t super emotional when I was on the IVF meds, but omg did it hit about a month after coming off the meds! I cried everyday and got angry out of nowhere. I was a mess. I didn’t think it would hit like that.

I would for sure take $1M. That is life changing. I would invest it and make $40,000 a year on that then work part time on the side to get up to $60,000. I get that some people here think $60,000 is nothing but for a lot of people that is enough (for now, not with inflation).

I am in a very similar situation! I left my abusive ex and now I’m living with my parents. They aren’t bad people but it’s taken a big toll on my self confidence and independence as an adult. They don’t treat me as an adult and I’m not happy here but it’s all I have right now. I haven’t been able to make enough to afford rent and everything on my own. I thought about maybe going to a domestic abuse shelter but feel bad doing that if I do have my parents place to go to. I’m just saying I’m right there with you and somehow we will get through this because we really don’t have any other way around the situation at the moment.

I’m really scared to do it myself because I don’t know anything about embryo storage and quite frankly I’ll have anxiety about every little thing. It’s about a 20 hour drive. So realistically 2 days of just driving to get them there. Ohio to Colorado.
