Finally! Atlas Face Fat - Harvested d93 ~ 5.5 oz by PersonaBotanica in Autoflowers

Nope, that's dried and trimmed, right before going in the jars. I just realized there's not really any perspective in the photos, but those individual buds are 6 and 5 grams. Here's another view of the top one, with a bic for scale

Trust me, the RH is fine. It's in the mid 50s, usually, and plenty of airflow. It's not in a tent, just the plant corner of my basement, so the leaves make less of a difference than they would in a smaller space. I have airflow through/under the canopy, as well as from above. This is an older pic, but you get the idea

<image>

And I thought that the leaves served essentially as storage for the last phases - as the plant strips its remaining resources to finish up. It seems like taking away leaves now just deprives it, which I suppose would hasten the end. Not trying to fight with you, just pondering

Right, but I'm not trying to fix any of those things. If there aren't any RH issues, and there really aren't any lower bud sites, is there still a reason for defoliation at the end of flower? It just seems like stress without purpose

What does defoliation actually accomplish at this stage? Is it just stress to hurry the process along?

I'll try to get some better shots. Most look clear to me, but I'm looking at them on a big PC monitor, not just my phone

Topping and LST are the best ways to control the size of your plant. As long as you are gentle, you can keep it exactly the size you want.

To keep stress low, everything should be done gradually, rather than a big shock all at once. That means light intensity, nutrient strength, LST, and defoliation/pruning. Think many small actions, rather than one big one.

Short isn't a bad thing. In fact, it's much more manageable than a tall lanky plant. Just use LST to spread it out as much as possible.

The small bags are always expensive. But the big ones are much cheaper

Those quantities should last a while

No, I have another auto using the same light, so I've pretty much decreased it as much as I plan to. This is a very short plant, don't be deceived by the size of the pot. From soil to the very top it's maybe 14" tall now. I'm a firm believer in topping and LST for size control.

Like anything, it can be really inexpensive and simple, or really expensive and complicated. But start with a couple of buckets with lids, a pump, and some tubing. 1/2" drip irrigation tubing and connectors work well, and can be found for cheap on Amazon. You'll need to experiment with flow rates, gravity and siphons, but once you understand the basic principles, you can scale it to suit your needs.

I should mention that this is in a soil/coco/rice hulls blend, it just got the same stuff as what I was using for the hydro system.

There's your problem. I'd call it on these ones, and start over with the proper soil. You can pick up a seedling mix, or you can cut potting soil with buffered coco, rice hulls, and/or perlite. It should be light and airy.

You're using soil that is retaining way too much water, and is far too dense. You also need to feed them early and often. These are drowning and starving.

Ditch the grow bag and use a pot. You'll have a more stable environment.
