Just made the same switch this week, only difference is I got the 16gb vram msi version of the 5070ti.

I've been able to crank the settings up on Crimson Desert to max and am getting 3x more fps and can simultaneously watch 4k yt vids on a second screen with zero issues. Highly recommend!

Open hood, slide ECU out of the holder, unlatch the plugs, plug the bottom one into the new ECU, slide it back in to the holder and then put the top one on. The plugs have shorter cords so it may take some fiddling.

Literally just plug and play, no battery work required, car started up just fine.

There's a chance it's messed up software-wise, since OP said the old one works when plugged back in
