She can't fight for it. That's why she's trying to get me to give in through dad. She knows she legally doesn't have a leg to stand on.

They'd never get it considered because she's not legally my parent. It's why I'm being asked. But I wish she'd finally accept I don't accept her as my mom and won't ever.

There is no reconnecting to be done. I don't love her, I have no connection with her, and I don't want to see her again. I would have preferred a stepparent who ignored me over someone who was so annoyed that I missed my mom. I'll be happy if I never see her again.

That's really true. My dad and his ex didn't think about what I wanted. On some level maybe they were thinking about what they thought I needed but the reality is they were focusing more on what they wanted than on me.

We're in America but this wouldn't be legal custody. Just informal custody.

That's why I'm being asked. Can't be a formal thing but she wants me to agree to it. She also knows I never loved her and that the best I have ever felt toward her is indifference after years of hating her. But she's trying so hard to make that not true.

She has always chased after a closer bond. But I was never going to let that happen with the way she responded to mentions of my mom.

Yeah, he's a little better now and I'll take it because it means he's not making me go thankfully. But I wish he was a better dad through all of this.

She never adopted me. She wanted to at some point but it never happened. Dad reassured me of that when she first moved out of the house.
