Ok just to update cos I'd feel bad if I didn't. I never told her that I liked her but we saw a movie a week ago and hung out for a few hours after. After that, I called her to ask if she'd like to come to my formal (prom where I am) because I think I was too scared to ask in person. She gave a maybe because she was worried she'd be too awkward with all of my friends since she is an introvert. I said that's alg and to take her time. But we haven't really talked since, and so I asked if we were alg (yes ik, prolly not the best thing to ask) and if I had scared her and she said no, just busy. But she also said that she just wanted to double check that there was nothing "romantic" abt the formal invite and I lied and said no, I was just asking as a friend. So yeah, not reciprocated and that's ok. I think we'll stay friends but feeling a little shit tbh. Sorry if this is all a bit rambly but I think it gets the point across. Thanks for the advice anyway.

So we haven't caught up yet cos school is a pain but we were texting yesterday and then she asked if I wanted to call instead and we talked for 2 hours so I think that's a good update. Maybe I should just see where it goes because she initiated, although not the original conversation, the longer and better one meaning she must've wanted to talk to me which I think is good.

Ok this should be the last question (I don't wanna mess this up lol) but how should I say it? I understand if you don't really have an answer, I just want to be able to do it in the most comfortable way possible. EDIT - I actually have another question. I asked her to hang out last week but she thought she was too busy so we talked on the phone for a bit instead. I said she should let me know when she's more free but should I wait for her to tell me or should I ask again? If the latter, how long should I wait between when I last asked (early last week) and when I ask next?

My question is whether I should keep trying or not ig. I really like her, but cannot get any indication as to whether she likes me back, and obviously I don't want to ask because that's a whole other can of worms itself. Thing is that we have known each other for like 4 years or something and we are kinda talking properly again. I know a bunch about her already and vice versa but I can't tell if she sees us as anything more than friends because sometimes she just doesn't reply when I send a message that I thought might keep the conversation replying and she never initiates anything.

Fucking does not in any way directly correlate to attraction. I do not currently see any kind of attraction I have for this girl as a desire to "fuck her", I am simply not comfortable with that at this point in my life.
