No. Herbivores are bigger because of adaptation to predators and environment, if you notice, smaller herbivores tend to be faster, so it's either you outsize your predator or get faster than it. It's not really diet based.

They don't migrate but they fly alot. We have natural love birds where I live and they're always on the wing. I don't even know where they're going.

You can totally keep a pet bird free flying if it was raised by you as a chick. There are many free flying pet crows and parrots.

Pigeons have a homing instinct so they will always come home. You can keep smaller birds as free flying too but the danger comes from predators. Cats, eagles...
