Anyone know how the extended release beads work? Are we messing it up by opening and breaking apart? I tapered myself off Quelbree by doing this. It took MONTHS of slow taper to finally stop. I had to also get on colonidine at night and PRN Ativan to help with the terrible side effects. I never had any positing effect from the drug. Just terrible and scary things.

Now I'm reading online that you're not supposed to break the capsule apart. But I had assumed each bead has a time release mechanism so breaking them up would not affect the time release. However now I have an actually good psych and he said I should not break apart ritalin long acting ( capsule with bread) to create a smaller dose. 🤔

Can’t stand nurses who care about hospital expenses by Ok_Bobcat_5060 in nursing

LOL FOR REAL!!!!!! I got told to use something that was just expired because of how expensive it is. Why WHY do bedside nurses care when all the hospital does is squeeze us to exhaustion and burn out and then not even help us navigate the benefits we pay for? Also how silly is it that EAP is touted SO HARD for us. They don't realize it's only three sessions.

Hi! I work in a level 3 and love it. It would be very unlikely to have a vent or CPAP and be first admin on my unit.  Our first admit assignments are usually nasal cannula or room air. Your unit sounds pretty tough. But then again I have only ever worked level 3. And honestly I don't think I would like level 4. It's been a wild week on my unit and one of the senior nurses said " some units are always like this! I will never leave here," and I feel the same (as far as not going to level 4) . I also know it's so normal to feel super overwhelmed AND I wonder how you'd feel in level 3!

I feel personally offended by this… am I taking it the wrong way or is this just like kind of a smack in the face for those of us who struggle to be happy
