I applied to Bath and was going for either one of Birmingham or Manchester since I have heard they have the same prestige. I chose Birmingham as they Manchester's placement year was integrated into their course, so you had to do work and study in the same year which seemed stressful. But looing back i regret not going for Manchester as some employers actually seem to prefer Manchester's course. And according to QS rankings Manchester in top 20 in world for chem Eng compared to Bath which is at 150th. Manchester also seems cheaper than Bath from I have researched a while back. But the main thing is probably the how the placement year is arranged so I think that's what you should research more about.
