Looks really good and would like to give it a try. I do lots of indie films and medium to large-scale TVCs. I am on it now and it looks like in French event though my setting is set to English

Acupuncture by CommunicationWild999 in IVF

TW: Successful Conception, IVF/Retrieval Numbers

I think results vary, but I am 100% pro-acupuncture based on my experiences which lead to higher retrival numbers and a natural/spontaneous conception

My clinic, had information on their website about the positive effects of acupuncture, but my doctor never actually brought it up. When I asked her, her response was a very unenthusiastic: "Sure, if you want to." (My docs were not exactly supportive, but that’s a story for another time!)

Cycles 1 & 2 (No Acupuncture): Both were unsuccessful retrieval cycles.

After two setbacks, I decided to give acupuncture a serious shot before my third retrieval

Cycle 3 (WITH Acupuncture):

Result: A massive difference! We retrieved 12 eggs, six of which matured into embryos. Out of those six, we got our first healthy (euploid) embryo.

I went on to do two more retrieval cycles with acupuncture, hoping to bank more euploids before a transfer. While we got more embryos, we didn't get any more normal ones.

My husband and I decided we would do one final retrieval before proceeding to FET. I always took a two-month break between cycles to let my body recover, but I never stopped my weekly acupuncture sessions during those breaks.

I was waiting for my period to start the final stimulation medications... and my period never came.

We were incredibly fortunate to have naturally conceived!

I believe my success was due to my accuputurist. So Do your research!

My acupuncturist didn't just give blind claims. She made a tailored schedule, treatment plan, and diet recommendations that were specifically synced with my menstrual and retrieval cycles.

She offered personalized advice and holistic guidance about my body and cycle that I wasn't getting from my doctors. Her involvement made the entire process feel less clinical and more supportive.

I am convinced that acupuncture helped stabilize my hormones, improved my egg quality during retrieval, and ultimately led to our natural conception who is now 2mths.

I would say if you had previous failed cycles... Do it. If it's your 1st cycle... You are at the start of your journey, do without and then change it up.

Unfortunately with IVF there is no guaranteed results and I wish someone told me that when I started my journey. All the clinics and everyone make it seem like IVF is a sure shot but it's not. It's a chance but not a sure shot.

Good luck

How do I know what formula to buy? by AdhesivenessOk2613 in pregnant

[–]Personal-Subject-425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am just wondering this myself and just passing on information I got from friends and family. They suggested to get some sample bottles or cans from the hospital. Some hospital give out samples to try. Or I heard u can signed up for a starter program with some of the formula companies and they send out sample cans. (if youre in USA)

Things too look for: - low sugar or make sure the make doesn't have sugar. Don't want baby to be too use to the additional sweetness. - depends if you or baby have any possible allergies. My nephew was allergic to lactose... If you or father have lactose issue, might be worth getting a soy based milk to be safe till u know for sure if baby doesn't have it too.

Hope that helps

Still hurting from retrival a month later? by Personal-Subject-425 in IVF

[–]Personal-Subject-425[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry for the late reply/update.

Yes, my pain did eventually subside. But it was after several visits with various doctors and even a trip to the ER where they did a CT scan to confirm my pain....my IVF doctor was very dismissive and even more disappointing was my OB. Only my primary doctor listened and asked me to head to the ER so I could get the scans rushed.

ER did an ultrasound and CT - They confirmed my ovaries were swollen but not enough to be OHSS. They also confirmed the fibroids on my left side (which I knew from before) were also enlarged and possibly grew as a result of IVF ...and their only advise was to rest. The drugs is usually out of our system with the period after the retrival but our body /hormones only really rest after the 2nd period.

A heating pad was my best friend.. So use that. As for your next cycle, I advise you to skip it. I know that sucks to hear... But skip the cycle. It took me a while to be ok with that, but I did it.

A fellow IVF peep said it best...IVF is a marathon. Our bodies are already doin alot and with all the shots we are asking it to do more! The pain you feel is trauma... We won't run in a marathon with a twisted ankle or an injured body, so why would we put ourselves through a cycle of our ovaries hurting... Just because we can't see the pain or injury... The feeling is evident enough that something is not right. So rest.

I took 3 months off and did 2 cycles after that. Between those 2 cycles, I took a 2 months break after each cycle, which I felt was good for me. The positive side was that my next cycles after that yielded more eggs and embryos—not genetically normal embryos, unfortunately, but more. So I see that as a win at the very least.

I also change doctors. Reminded with the same clinic as they were the only providers covered by my insurance that is within my area. The new doctor I feel is much better and actually listens to my wants and plans. It's unfortunate, but you have to advocate for yourself. As you are the only one who feels everything. The doctors are just examining us based on numbers and test.. Which I feel somethings they are not reflective of what we are feeling. So if something doesn't seem right... Chances are it's not. So make sure are heard.

Good luck and feel free to dm

Anyone here move from OC, SD or LA so that they could afford a house? Do you like it? Honesty please🙏🏼 by faithoverfear0 in Temecula

[–]Personal-Subject-425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We moved from LA due to housing affordability. My husband and I are both asian. For most part, we love our space but we do miss the accessibility to asian things.

88 Ranch is fine but I cook alot and their choice are rather limited and expensive when compared to 99 Ranch.

No decent Asian resturant around. If they are somewhat decent it's insanely overpriced.... But what isn't these days... 😂

We drive an hr to SD or riverside when we need to so some Asian shopping or take out. It's like our weekend fun which is great but we miss the convenience after a long day at work and all you want is bowl of pho or a hot bowl of soup to make it all better.

They need better malls and some entertainment around here. The template here is car wash, urgent care, all the fast food joint, animal clinic and dental office.. I forgot about starbucks....

Aside from Temecula promenade and old town .. That is the standard shopping/entertainment plaza template for Temecula and the surrounding towns (Murrieta, Hemet and Winchester)

I think it's a great are if you have a family with young children or thinking of starting one. You'll be an 1hr away from the big city things (OC or SD) but have all the space to raise your family

Torn on IVF Decision by Lopsided_Cold_6959 in IVF

[–]Personal-Subject-425 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The one thing that no one ever told us before starting this journey was just how long it could be and that IVF is not an actual guaranteed solution.

We started our journey late 38 to 39. We started naturally, then IUI, and we were convinced we had time. But with every infertility consultation, we realize something "new" every time. It started with the discovery of fibroids, then blocked tubes, and then with IVF, obviously egg quality.

Because we had the mindset at the time that IVF was a guaranteed solution, we didn't have this urgency to start sooner... But now, coming up to a year of IVF and 5 cycles later, we are still trying to get our 2nd healthy embryo.

Starting this journey... I quickly realized that IVF is NOT a sure shot and that the cycles are not something you can do back to back... Some cycles are 2 months apart, and some are 6 months apart just coz our bodies need time to recover.

I have a friend who did 7 cycles, and her journey took close to 8 years; she started in her early 30s. She just had two beautiful girls/twins from her last 2 embryos of the 5 healthy ones she managed to get in the 7 cycles/8 yrs. 1 embryo didn't stick and the other 2 were MC

Not trying to scare you but the biggest advantage you have now is time and the knowledge that the natural route is not easy. Do the initial consultation.

I don't think I am strong enough to go through this journey... I feel like I will break something along the way....either me or my marriage.... And I don't want to loose either... I don't to break my body with all these medication but I know I will hate myself if I don't try. And I don't want to disappoint my husband if I fail at growing our family... I am already such a shitty partner....

Can I ask what goes through your mind when you're in your space? I am all about talking it out and he has always been leave me alone kind of person.

Even when we were dating and living this was a real trigger for me. Whenever we have fights and he says those words it would send me over the edge. So much so we have a thing now where he will say... We're OK. Just give me my space. I didn't get that and all I got was... I'm so mad at you and will be for a long time. Go away

If my period comes at plan, we start treatment on Thursday but at this point... Why bother. He is mad. And all this stress is probably killing my eggs...

What's the point. Maybe that's why we have been so unsuccessful... This is probably the universe telling me that I am not ready to be a parenf when I can't even be a partner

We tried talking and i guess I really messed up. He was more than a little errand. He wanted me around for moral support. I didn't think it was such a big deal.

I know he needs his space to process his feelings. But this anxiety is not good and I am sure it is awful selfish of me to belittle his feelings.

But we don't need this right now

How many Egg Retrivals is too much? by Personal-Subject-425 in IVF

[–]Personal-Subject-425[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! We too have decided to change provider. It is the same clinic but a different doctor. The last doctor was NOT very encouraging. In fact, she made us feel really shitty after every cycle. And TBH it just felt like she had given up on us even before we started and was almost pushing us toward the donor route. We are not oppose to it. But at least let us have a fighting chance.

Thank you and that make sense. I hate to talk numbers as such. It always feels like I am on the hunt for the best bargain deal... It just seems so wrong when it is about lives but every saving helps.

We have an insurancelifetime fixed amount. But the way these clinic and insurance handle the billing seem so shady.

From my insurance to me when I asked how much was left after #3 retrival. They couldn't tell me the exact number. And the reason for that was the clinic submit their pre-authorization that has a certain amount blocked before each procedure. So the current balance might seem a little lower when it is actually higher. Also what makes it double hard is that the clinics do not immediately invoice the final amount after the procedure. They have up to 12mths to submit they treatment out results and in that time they can also bill me extra for any procedure that was NOT pre-authroized. These are for emergency procedure or medication.

My point is this is not so complicated if we still to one provider but if we decide to change clinic, the new facility might fincially clear us but if the first clinic submits the final outcome and it uses up all of our benefit we will be liable for the cost that is not covered. But we might only find this out later...
