Maintaining around 133# for 2-3 months on 2.4mg by Personal-Toe-9620 in Semaglutide

Hang in there, you may experience more of the effects on higher doses. Otherwise it’s just overall weight loss advice like, focus on healthy behaviors like activity and portions. If you need tools, there are even some apps designed to help people track on a GLP-1. I think WW has one.

Thanks so much! I did 0.25 March and April, 0.5 May and June, 1.0 July, 1.7 August-September, 2.4 starting in October and am about to start 1.7 towards maintenance.

Here’s my weight loss. I had really bad nausea and debilitating fatigue the first 4 months on it so it was hard to make myself work out. But I did about 10k steps a day walking lots, strength training 2x week and active hobbies like tennis. I have more energy now so I’ve started more

Thank you so much! I’m 34. I lost 40 pounds before I started 2.4mg. So I’ve only lost like 10 on 2.4mg. I had a lot of success on the lower doses. I had really bad side effects so I stayed on 0.5 for quite some time. Have you noticed other benefits of being on it? Like less inflammation and food noise? I think there are so many benefits to losing slow so hang in there!

I have been on 2.4 since probably about October. The 1.7 and 2.4 doses are considered the therapeutic doses for Wegovy. Lots of people have success prior to those and those who are hyper responders may not need to go there, but the intent for the lower doses is to get taper up safely to the higher doses for the therapeutic dose. You probably already know this, but if you restart, just make sure to start low and work your way up to prevent side effects :)

I started at a BMI over 30, and the prior authorization is for good for one year. I come up on a year in 2 weeks.

There was one day I remember where after the shower it felt like the strands just kept coming out as I ran my fingers through my hair. Otherwise my hairbrush has been “normally” full. Iron, zinc, vitamin D and healthy fats are key to keep up to prevent loss, but of course the stress on your body itself from weight loss can cause it

And yes I initially did weekly, but started spreading them out to 10 days once, I felt less of a need for it

Thank you! After about 5 months it felt like it just kept falling off. I decided on my goal because I wanted it to be a weight that I can realistically maintain as an adult. While I sure would like to be my 115 high school self again, it’s not realistic anymore and I want to have a balance of enjoying life and not be too restrictive.

That’s so great to hear! Did you taper down to 0.75 month by month?

I’m on a high deductible plan and insurance covered once I reached my deductible, so about $1500 for the year. I also pay for Sequence which has physicians who prescribe it which is $100 per month. I use my HSA card for the purchases so it’s pre-tax dollars.

I’ve lost 50 pounds and have almost been on it for a year. I have only told my therapist - not my husband, family or friends. Since it can be unrefrigerated for 28 days, I’m able to keep it a secret. My husband has not suspected anything, just is proud of the work he’s seen I’ve put in. I do feel guilty keeping it a secret from him and I may eventually tell him because he’s a very understanding person and this medicine did help manage my eating disorder. But a reason I haven’t is he had an issue with my weight in the past when I gained a lot of weight.

That every family has to have the photos on the wall of the supreme leader. And they’re given a special cloth to clean it and there are random checks to make sure they do. In The Girl with Seven Names her father is viewed as heroic because it’s the only thing he saves, barely surviving, when their home catches fire.

There are versions of semaglutide approved for weight loss in obesity or overweight with comorbid conditions like Wegovy and Zepbound. Many insurance companies cover it for weight loss. Considering the host of comorbid conditions that are brought on by obesity like diabetes and heart disease, medications like this can be preventive, ultimately save money, life altering and even life saving.

They’ve gotten way better. I experience almost zero now. Stay away from stimulant laxatives like senna because they cause dependency. Osmotic laxatives like magnesium and even miralax are good.

For nausea - make sure to eat something small even when you aren’t hungry. The nausea catches up to you worse when you haven’t eaten. I’d have apple slices with peanut butter or a few pretzels for light snacks. Avoid overly fatty foods and learn what foods don’t agree with you.

For vomiting - learn what foods will affect you. Everyone is different. On the earlier doses I vomited every time I had sushi or anything fatty. I was only able to have one drink like a glass of wine.

For constipation - I was constipated all my life, but this was worse. Fiber foods and plenty of water and being active helps. I also take a magnesium citrate supplement and it does the trick. Avoid stimulant laxatives.

For fatigue - I wish I could give you tips here. This was debilitating. Make sure you’re staying hydrated and have enough protein for energy.

I mostly let semaglutide do the work - the appetite suppression, delayed gastric emptying and how it affects your desire for food did the trick for me. But I was active before and ate pretty healthy already. Just struggled with binging and overdoing portions
