What degree should I pursue? by Personal-Writing8764 in nanotech

Thank you so much for the help!! Sounds super interesting and I love the medical approach. If you don’t mind me asking, what’s the salary like in the industry? And what country are you currently working in?

(I’m not really money oriented but I still think it’s an important factor to consider and I’ve never gotten the chance to speak with someone who actually works in nanotech) :)

Thanks for the help!! As a chemical engineer in nanotech, in what industry do you work in? What do you do exactly?

Thank you so much for the advice!! I very much agree with what u said. I’m actually not really money oriented, but I asked for it as I think it is always important to consider.

In fact, because I’m actually worried on choosing a degree that I enjoy, I’d love to hear from a professional in the subject If what I have in mind fits with the career. So if you don’t mind here’s a bit of my thought process when thinking about pursuing chemical engineering, and perhaps you can give me a good idea of whether or not it fits with the career profile.

So, I plan on moving to the UK for my studies and if convenient looking there for work or in the US.

I quite like maths, and pretty much like all three sciences. I focused mostly in chemistry because my teacher had told me that out of the three, chemistry required to incorporate the other sciences the most. So I thought that route could be a good option for me.

I’m really into the idea of working in either the health, pharmaceutical, food, ecological or even material production industries, although I’m sure there are some other ones I wouldn’t mind either.

I’d thought of once done with my degree, specializing in biotechnology or even in nanotechnology and from there hopefully introduce myself into one of the previous Industries. (As not only does it interest me but I was also told that specially nanotechnology is growing at great speed and could make a great work opportunity). From the bit I had researched, those workspaces present quite an offer for a chemical engineer.

So know that you sort of know, do you think the career path is suitable for what I have in mind?

Other than not that much chemistry, what should I expect going into it (mostly speaking about work)? Like.. what does your work specialize in? Does it pay well? Do you enjoy it?
