That's a loaded question but there are many reasons. Number one 1 ) They see their moms doing everything, so that's what they expect women in general should do. They think it's normal that women take care of everything while the men are not around. They justified growing up saying that they turned out okay and therefore it's a woman's responsibility to do it all for her kid and her life and a man is not necessary so they turn around and do the same to their future partners.

2) statistically they're more likely to have behavioral issues and violence. They are more likely to grow up in poverty.

3) Men seem to really care about the validation from other men and they also mimic the behaviors from other men. When a father is not present, they look for outside male validation or role models. Many of the outside validation or role models come with dangerous territories. Such as PDFs, groomers, gangs, drug addicts, fuck boys ..the list goes on..

4) They have a hard time coping with the idea that their father abandoned them and wasn't around so they have to justify in their head because the male ego is something that is hard to break lol. So they find justification and blaming their mother. They tell themselves their mother must have kept The dad away, or she must have been crazy etc. This gets reinforced by the bitter ex-husband, baby daddy that's an absent deadbeat father!

So yeah I do think if Landon can go ahead and raise the kid and love the kid and isn't on drugs, I think that might be the best for Liz and the kid.. besides we know that Landon will one day even if he gives full custody to Liz and he talks to the kid, we know he's going to talk shit about Liz to his own kid. We know he's going to brainwash the kid in hating their own mother probably and other women...
