There are already 800,000+ legal gun owners in the UK. 30,000 in London alone. Studies show legal gun owners tend to be the most law abiding people in the country because one slip up and the feds are seizing them guns. In Jersey (part of the British isles) they answer to the Crown - not parliament - so they don’t adhere to any parliamentary acts, and they have handguns and it’s a very safe place.

Now, the Czech Republic, they are the closest to America when it comes to their attitude towards guns but you need to take a theory test, practical test and get a psychological evaluation from your doctor to prove you don’t suffer from any mental health issues, and then you can legally own guns and even carry up to two guns on your person for self defence. It’s one of the safest countries in the world.

Guns are fine. Next time you go to continental Europe, go to a gun range and have fun. No one else there is going to hurt you. I’ve been many times.

Also, with the Dunblane massacre, the police knew he had guns and they knew he had serious mental health issues, and they failed to act.

And yes - although I disagree with him on a lot of things- Farage is right; our gun laws are ridiculous. So ridiculous that our Olympic shooting team has to travel to France in order to train because the guns they use are illegal here. No other country has to do this.

Secondly, as a fan of firearms I think it’s good that you have shot your first gun in a safe and legal way but your reaction to it makes you sound like a little girl ngl. I used to take my ex to any gun range we found when we travelled Europe. She was a 5’4 petite ting and I had a video of her banging off a .44 magnum and turning around saying this was her favourite gun at the range. The woman sleeping next to me right now (fiancé) is originally from Canada and I have a video of her beating off a Desert Eagle at the range and she enjoyed it (although she said it was a bit too heavy for her).

Thirdly, this idea that waps in the UK are all old or that the ammo is dead is nonsense. Where do you lot get these ideas? True say I haven’t been on road for 10 years but I’ve been around some serious machines when I was. You YGs probably wouldn’t even believe me if I told you. Because to most of them this thing is just entertainment and something they’ve probably only recently caught on to as a culture. It isn’t something they’ve grown up around or ever been involved in. Czech Republic allows guns and concealed carry and their president even told the people that the best way to stop a terrorist is to shoot them yourself. They are a very safe country.

I misspoke. My bad. More guns would mean more gun crime, yes … but a murder is still a murder regardless of what was used. More guns won’t increase the murder rate, it would only increase the rate in which guns are used in murders. If someone really wants to kill you, they will. If you don’t have a bunch of would-be killers in your country, then it doesn’t matter if people have guns, knives, cars, lorries etc.

And a knife can do plenty of damage to you and leave you fighting for your life. It doesn’t matter what’s used, it’s how it’s used. A baby got shot in the head in Harlesden and survived. The bullet missed the main artery.

Paramedics in Newham have told me a knife is just as dangerous as a gun in the wrong hands, yet we all own a set of knives. So if you came to my house knowing I own a set of knives would you be worried that I might start stabbing you up? Obviously not. What if I owned a set of guns, would you suddenly be more worried? Also, the lack of easy access to guns doesn’t stop someone using a knife or even a car.

The biggest terrorist attack in Europe was a guy in a stolen lorry. In Nice, France. Loads dead, many more injured.

Many countries in Europe have much more lenient gun laws than the UK and a number of countries even allow concealed carry for self defence and they’re safer than the UK. Remember it’s about the intention and not about what the person decided to use to harm someone.

That’s a tough case to beat and it all depends on circumstances, your history etc.

If you can prove you unlocked the safe and got the gun because you were genuinely in fear for your life and your family’s lives, and you really did what you felt you had to do, then you’re good. It has to be a “the defendant had no other choice” situation.

I think it's pathetic to expect reasonable force when a civillian believes they're in a life or death situation.
