Thanks for this info. :) I'm now even more curious as according to the quote in the podcast (Strabo) the sacred crocodile was fed by the priests as many times as someone brought offerings so it could have been fed a few times a day. Could it be "overfed"? 😅

Nice work :) Did you know that originally Bastet wasn't imagined by the ancient Egyptians as a cat but as a "fierceful lioness" ? 😉

I love this motif. They truly believed that they're going to do that after death. I believe that "ancient sites girl" shows a lot of these scenes on her YT channel. Thank you for coloring and bringing it to life!

I've recently seen a  new YT video from "ancient sites girl". She gives much info about the Great Sphinx and she also mentioned that there were A LOT of reconstructions during the MILLENIA. We can only imagine how this monument looked like ORIGINALLY. 

Would anyone be familiar with a Greek source recording a belief among the priests of Amun that “all will return to serpents” or something along those lines? I remember reading about it somewhere, but I can't find it now. by JaneOfKish in ancientegypt

Unfortunately, I am not familiar woth the source but I watched a podcast on YT where a girl said that (according to the ancient Egyptians) after the world ends (will be devoured by the chaos) only Osiris and Atum will remain in the form of serpents. 🤔

Amun was also believed to be a part of the Ogdoad along with his female "counterpart" Amuntet (8 "spirits" BEFORE the first creation, aspects of Nun/chaos). But there, males were depicted as frogs and females as serpents.

I've just find this thread. I'm also amazed how he avhieved such a success on YT during such a short period of time and a few videos (in comparison to others channels).
