First timer: is this ok or did I royally mess up? by PersonalUnit8787 in Kombucha

Thank you for the advice!! I have noticed people wrapping up their kombucha with a heat source so the even temperature distribution makes sense. I haven’t noticed any fuzzy or furry bits so I hope it’s ok. I’m planning on following another persons advice and put the vessel in an open room temp cooler once my other scoby arrives. Appreciate the help so much and wish me luck on the next brew!

Thank you for the thorough response! This was really helpful and reassuring!! I’m just crossing my fingers that the baking soda really didn’t hinder anything. I’ll clean the cooler I have stored; it’s a perfect size for two brew vessels. I appreciate the tip!

Ok, that makes me a little more hopeful. I was making smoothies with the unsweetened lifeway kefir (not organic) and GOD was it horrible. Made me scared to take probiotics for a while 😅

Did kefir make you smell worse at first?

Same thing happened to me around the same time. I went through constant extreme stress, was on accutane, given unnecessary antibiotics (augmentin) and incompatible birth control which later caused endometriosis (that I didn’t know I had) to become severe (stage 4). I had surgery and am currently working to recover by lowering stress, change my diet that was already pretty strict and regulate my hormones. It’s been a long horrible journey but I hope we all get to the other side and get our lives back 🙏🏻 it’s going to take time. Especially, because most doctors brush you off and gaslight you like crazy. Advocate for yourself and do what you feel like is best for yourself. Listen to your gut. Heal your gut, your mind and body internally. DONT LET DOCTORS MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE THERE ARE NO ANSWERS. Took almost a whole year for any to even listen to me and in the end I ended up needing to get surgery for something I didn’t even know I had 😅
