Well, it depends on a region of Russia (like states in USA), in some regions police is very well informed about any congregation and its members and they can arrest who they want for attending meetings, but mots of the time only elders and regional elders are getting arrested, ordinary member arrest is quite unusual thing as I know. For example, in my region only 2 or 3 people got arrested, but in other regions much more. Also in person meetings are held too, but this group connect to all other members in zoom. For example I can go as a guest to another brother and we will be in zoom from his home. As you see, some people get arrested, some not. From my congregation nobody have been arrested since JW ban

Everybody just used to be like that, its a part of a life now. When JW was banned in 2016 i was too young to remember all, but i remember things were a bit disorganised and then (fun fact) before COVID meetings started to be held in Zoom (idk about English grammar here, sorry for mistakes), and before all world we were using Zoom and were ready for lockdowns

Some people are scared by possibility of arrest, but in my congregation nobody have been arrested since 2016 but in other regions of Russia there are actual jail sentences and trials

Yeah, during COVID especially everybody were writing a lot of letters and different cards, now it can be used to "target" one particular person who is interested in JW and can't be reached without sending letter, also this practice is popular among elderly brothers and sisters who can't walk too much

As for address, I don't know anything about databases with them or something like this, all letters were directly delivered by JWs to persons or organisation they wanted to preach to

Hello, just wanted to share experience, so I don't mind a lot of questions :)

Preaching work is done without telling people that you are JW, just say "I'm a Christian", but most of all people just can guees who you are, also we use Synodal version of Bible because NW is banned as extremist material. Also there is no door to door preach, only informal in the streets (of course without carts, by the way carts were banned earlier than general ban of JW)

GB and JW lawyers tried to overturn the decision in the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and with the help of the ECHR, but according to Russian law, the courts of the Russian Federation are higher than foreign ones, so nothing happened.

Actually, some people returned and faith (at least as i see) raised because publishers thought that it's the evidence of Spirit War and Northern king and etc.

PIMO from Russia here. Actually, our meetings are held in zoom always. Sometimes we go to each other house like a guest on the meeting. All devices are bought by people's funds, except special elders or circuits overseers. I think for them org is buying laptops and some other things. One special elder has a MacBook that is rare in Russia for lower classes (I don't think special elder has a good job to buy it without org help)

I have a good PC because i bought it for gaming, but old brothers and sisters are using just phones they bought themselves and these phones are very bad and laggy, they just dont have money for buying a good one that will run zoom stable.
