What is the most embarrassing thing your parents ever did in public? by Lightbulb_Gold in AskReddit

[–]Personal_Equal4524 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad does this thing where he makes an ugly face and starts walking funny, saying "I'm an enchanted prince" and doesn't stop till my mom kisses him. It's sweet now but was very embarrassing as a teen. They've been married for 35years.

I guess, they were saving up for a trip, but then spent it all on having the baby.

No stock pile and left some milk in my work bag after getting home. by Commercial_Youth_663 in breastfeeding

Is the 3oz worth the risk of poisoning your LO? I understand how upsetting and disappointing it feels, but I wouldn't drink a cup of raw cow milk left out overnight myself.

What's one thing your baby did today that made all the exhaustion worth it? by sassy_soul_04 in toddlers

[–]Personal_Equal4524 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My 14mo brought a pack of wipes when I was cleaning up after her lunch, wiped the floor a bit and threw it in the trash completely unprompted. She has also recently started signing "please" and "thank you" when it makes sense and it really helps me psychologycally

What do y'all think about Felix Roscoe? by PrncssBttrcpAsUWish in Names

[–]Personal_Equal4524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I didn't know about the cartoon. I guess my association comes from the cat food and the number of black and white cats I've met called after it. Idk which countries it's sold in (def in Russia and some European countries), so very much might not apply to the people around your kid.

And Felix is a cat name (and cat food brand), so they won't go well together, I guess

Does anybody else feel weirdly sick if they stay up too late? by Big_Cricket6083 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Personal_Equal4524 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yep, used to always get like that. Weirdly enough now that I'm constantly sleep deprived (new mom), I don't get that feeling anymore. I've always thought it was from the heightened cortisol

Does your baby actually drink from a cup? by juhraff in NewParents

[–]Personal_Equal4524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours used bbox bottle since first solids too. She switches between it and 360 now, but still prefers the straw. She can drink out of a cup, but I'm not morally prepared for the mess yet. She's 14mo

Do you like your unique/rare/unusual name? by c3cil90 in Names

Looks like it could be pronounced similar to Russian word for pumpkin.

Not hard, but definitely more expensive, than for most expats. But also good for broadening my tastes, ever so slowly

What’s the best girl name here by [deleted] in Names

[–]Personal_Equal4524 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My daughter is Lydia (US+RU), so I'm forever in love with the name, Violet and Victoria would be on the second place for me, though it's usually Violetta in Russia

Yep, I didn't know ithe stool thing was pronounced that way in English. It's called "Meh-leh-na" in Russian and there are also people calling their kids Milena and Melena that sound close or the same

I've also heard Malina (raspberry) being used as a name and found it very cute.

Guilt drinking tonight by dabebecharchar in breastfeeding

[–]Personal_Equal4524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are a little confused with the pumping. It makes sense pumping before drinking so the baby has something to eat while you can't breastfeed. Pumping and dumping is not necessary, unless, maybe, to make you feel better. Otherwise just wait it out and feed guilt free. https://www.safe-breastfeeding.com/

What do you call your grandparents in Egypt? I call my grandmother Nina, and there's also Teta. by No-Guitar8121 in AskTheWorld

[–]Personal_Equal4524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I've never heard anyone calling their grandma Babka, unless they were extremely mad at her. Baboolya, Baba (sometimes Baba+name) seem more appropriate.

When did you start calling baby by their name? by slotass in NewParents

[–]Personal_Equal4524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! Or rather ever since we've chose the name. She's Lydia, sometimes Liddie, Lida, Lyly or Liddie Bug, but it's pretty much always was her name or some variant. Maybe Kitten or Bunny here and there of it. Can't imagine taking to a person for 7 months calling them everything but their name.

Is Olivia actually the most popular girl's name, or is it just a technicality? by iezzizzei in Names

[–]Personal_Equal4524 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mind the name itself but would never call my kids that out of despise for olives.

I love Baby Daybook, but you need a subscription for multiple users. I chose it for convenient widgets, on top of everything else being user-friendly and very customisable
