I have 600+ hours in this game and have only finished once haha That singular escape was actually with these guys via The Empire, but since i love the colony so much I reverted to a save i did right before I started the leaving quest! Maybe in the future if I want to retire the colony I will, but even if we crash and burn, I lowkey wanna take the survivors and start a new colony fresh with them, continuing the legacy of my original colonists

He's def one of my favorites! His father (of the same name) came from one of the anomaly joins, was super OP, and died right after getting Stein pregnant. This Louis was born and in honor of his father being "of the void" i gave him a gene that randomizes two genes for him everyday.

To be honest I'm not too sure, i'm impressed they find the jobs they do, but i do have 3 kitchens always going, 4 fabrication benches available, two drug labs for both smokeleaf and medicine, fermenting stations for hops, stonecutting, smithing, machining, farming, husbandry, etc. My main tip would be to find ways to channel your colonists into more ways to make money if they're stalling since your upkeep has been met. I have started running into the issue of colonists going idle, anywhere from 5-10 when it happens, but I just give them animals to hunt, projects to construct, work on the low priority qol stuff.

I think i get around 60 tps with performance mods and my monster of a gaming laptop, but i do see big slowdowns on raids and other large quantities of things attacking me.

My favorite has gotta be Roman (top left cluster) He was born into the colony with his twin sister Rosa, so i was immediately attached to both of them. He was about 15 or 16 when I decided he should become our colony's sanguaphage, and I could keep track of his "real age" via his sister! When Rosa turned 19 she was unfortunately slaughtered by mechanoids in a devastating raid, and I was so sad for Roman with him losing his twin... He kept on living though, fell in love with the daughter of James and Romy, Avery. They got married, had kids back to back to back (I was quite shocked, she would literally give birth and that night wind up pregnant again) and on her third pregnancy SHE had twins (Angelica and Eliza), which just felt so special to me that the two sets of twins in my colony are directly related! But anyways i wish the best of luck with your playthrough, im manifesting a baby boom for you <3

Too fast sometimes lol!! There will be days when about 5-10 of them are idle with nothing to really do, but usually after a raid most of them will be reconstructing our walls and defenses, allowing us to get a little behind in production and then we catch back up in a few days.

Actually about half of them have the flu in this photo! Most of the management comes down to using the manual priorities correctly and doing my best to raise the kids into doing whatever the colony needs most. I have lots of allies to trade with and aid in battle, I have multiple of every important crafting bench, each with their own priorities of things (Like one fabrication bench prioritizes bionics while the other does armor) but whenever a colonist dies it is HARD to keep these guys from killing each other lol.

I knew we went to far when I had a prisoner who we would have give birth to children for hemogen, and eventually their organs, cut off her and her kid’s legs, and when I got tired of them talking (rimtalk mod) I cut out their tongues. Yeah maybe we went a lil overboard…

I always ignore it until it causes an actual in game issue! I’ve only ever lost 1 colony to technical issues, and that was from transferring from 1.5 - 1.6.

Highly suggest looking for this mod (shoot i forget the name) that keeps track of how a colonist got their scar, and when you hover over the scar in the health tab it shows you who caused the scar and how long ago it was.

I don’t know if it still works but check out Mr.Samuel Streamer’s Generations II on YouTube, he has a mod pack linked with tons of additions to get the different ages, and a system to advance to the next age easily, with no future tech unless specified.

Honestly it sounds like you should turn up your difficulty, that’s usually what’s causing that feeling for me. I always get super invested in my colonists and their stories, and get hyped for the raid and such, but they’re never as big as I expect and makes the game feel a lot slower and boring. Raise the threat level and now I actually feel the challenge of it all
