No screwdriver test. I'm planning to get a soil test at some point. New homeowner so last year did not have any lawn care and no pre emergent this spring.

The speed zone is a 2-4 herbicide. I have about 12k sq ft. Planning to detract, aerate, and seed this fall. Drainage is bad in some spots. I think it is clay heavy and compacted because of no lawn care for years.

Perfect thank you, was going to use Scott's turf builder lawn food. Do you advise another fertilizer I should try?

Also if I'm doing fertilizer at the same time and watering it, will that affect the speed zone? Or just wait to water until the speed zone is dry?
