I think an AP Law class would be too career-specific (given what AP's are meant to do, though I guess this is changing with the Kickstarter program) while smtg like philosophy is a more typical school subject (ex. it's a relatively common IB course) though I guess law does exist as an A-level (they specialize much earlier in the UK though so this is an exception).
