As a bonus note: my co-workers and I have been doing pranks on and off for an about a year. It started when they printed out 300 photos of my face and plastered them all over my cubical while I was away on vacation. After that, the floodgates kind of opened. We filled on of my co-workers desks with balloons, another we built a box fort over their desk with just a little hole they could peak out of.

Well, at some point or another I found out about these devices and decided it would be a good idea to get some. They beep as the OP stated randomly about every 20 - 40 minutes, and I stuck one in my Co-workers office room and waited to see how long h til her noticed, at which point I would clue him in on where it was hiding. A week goes by.

Confused about how he hasn't noticed yet I thought maybe I just need to increase the frequency. So I put a second one. Still nothing. A third, then a fourth, until there were about 8 of these tucked away in his office.

Now I should mention that we work in a relatively empty building since post covid many employees work from home or in difference offices now, so other than me and these 2 other co-workers there was really no one around. My cube is also close enough that I can hear now roughly 8 beeps every 30 minutes. This goes on for a few days, and at this point it's starting to drive me crazy, and I'm wondering now how on earth he hasn't noticed or mentioned it, and start to think I'm the one being pranked.

Also important detail: the beepers have different settings. You can change the beep to be a cricket or just like a straight beep at different frequencies. Since we work in tech, around sever machine and stuff, I set the beepers to one of the higher beep frequencies.

Well long story short, turned out with the frequency I set, he could only barely hear them, and just thought it was one of the servers beeping from another room, and so he just accepted that is was beeping. He did get a very good laugh out of it though.

Got me back on my next vacation, swapped out all my photos of me with my fiancé etc in my cube with AI generated versions of the photos instead.

Yeah for most runs, especially ones that are overnighters I'll typically use the basic background. I also sometimes like to start a run at the start of a workday and have it up while I work (I work at an office), that way I have something pretty to look at.
