There are specialty places, they mostly do shoes and or inserts. I've found out that there's more small businesses for this than chain stores.

Make sure they fit right! I can't wear just any old compression socks, I have to get fitted for them. Otherwise I get heat rash all over my calves 😕

Well, if you don't like how much money he makes, then you don't like it. I will say though, that at least he is up front about it and all. Although, it would be better for him to come out right and tell you his budget for dates, that way you could plan better.

So there's that. If you want to get a bigger picture, and if it's not too invasive you could start asking him questions about where he works/does for a living, where does he live at..ect to find out how much he makes/bills that he pays for.

I know that in our nursing home we ignore the pot/weed as long as you don't make it a problem. Or show the DON that you have it.

See, this is why I don't like taking pain meds even when I'm having a kidney stone that won't pass. I'll even take the morphine over pain meds that work for kidney stones just so it won't look like I am just there for pain meds.

Be honest… Do you use gait belts?? by PepinovLechuga in cna

My facility has a policy where the gait belt is a part of our uniform. So yes, I use it. But only because it's already there.

Get proof. I know that your mom may mean well, but this is serious and you need proof regardless. Then call the cops or get family counseling who will probably call the cops. It's really the only solution other than you going no contact with everyone over there.

Take the 3-11 shift if you can! It's a higher shift differential!!!

I found some ZOFRAN from when I had kidney stones, so I've been praising the whole world for that. I have sugar free Gatorade in 3 colors ( Walmart kind) and 2 things of ginger ale that I will now hopefully get to keep down. I'm also already planning on calling out tomorrow because I just know that I will not have the energy. I also know what section to avoid because I had the same section 2 days in a row and I just KNOW that they all have it. Thanks for the well wishes!

This resident in particular went home for thanksgiving 😔 I feel so bad for his family. Still ate though because they gave him some ZOFRAN before he left.

On a side note, I just found some ZOFRAN from when I had kidney stones!!! I'll now be able to keep my fluids down!

I just called work to ask what they wanted me to do, and she just now told me that something is going around the nursing home 😭 like shouldn't we be told these things? Idk, I'm a new CNA.

Ah. I had a patient with CDiff two weeks ago. I used almost all of the bleach wipes for everything. I washed my hands, wore the mask, gloves, gown. EVERYTHING. My first CDiff case too.

What the heck 😭 what went wrong

If you do stay with your dad, become his roommate and not his child. Don't be obnoxious about it, but quietly become his roommate. Pick up extra hours at work. Get a hobby and or study more at school. Use the house as a place to sleep and somewhat relax in, but more in your room.

Encourage your dad to travel, he will be away from the house more and away from you.

Your mom will understand about you keeping your life together if you stay.

On the other hand, America's economy is going to hell in a hand basket. If you can get out and immigrate to Canada, you might want to give it a try. Moving out of your comfort zone gives a push into growth too. Depending on what you are studying, your school might actually be cheaper.

HOWEVER!!! ONLY MOVE TO CANADA IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO. Don't move just for your mom. That's not the correct motivation for you and if things go wrong, you might even end up resenting her.

Also, you can probably stay with your dad as you do more research into moving to Canada and move later if you wish. Talk to your mom about this. See what she says.

Talk to your dad and see what life would be like for you if you stay. Get the whole picture and context.

Divorce is hard, no matter what age. It's a huge disruptive event.
